Viewsonic Monitor Screen Brightness

Needed a larger screen for my home setup and decided to go with this monitor. It's a newer model from ViewSonic and I like that it has a built in docking station so I don't have to think about buying one separately. I also like the ergonomics, which made it easier to get it setup. 5 |

The Viewsonic VG1655 is an amazing monitor. It feels solid and the image is bright, sharp, saturated, and truly gorgeous. The screen's 16:9 aspect ratio allows multiple app windows to be displayed simultaneously while remaining readable, even with the Windows Scale display setting at 100% rather than 125%. The rear has a swing-out support that can prop up the monitor horizontally or vertically. The magnetic snap-on screen protector is actually quite rigid when mounted and should provide ample protection. The included cables should handle any connection scheme. My application is as a part of a telescope control computer that can be taken into the field. The computer is a mini-PC that normally runs off a 12Vdc adapter. The monitor can be powered from one of the computer's USB ports. With a 12V/6000mAh lithium battery, the entire package will run for about four hours. Haven't tried it yet with a 12V sealed lead acid battery, but I suspect up time to be longer. Overall, the package is a bit more cluttered than using a laptop, but the performance and flexibility are greater, IMO. Minor criticisms: 1) the included cables are all longer, thicker, and more rigid than seems necessary, but that might be an advantage for some, and 2) built-in speaker volume and quality are a bit wimpy, but they are included and still consistent with how the monitor will be used. The Viewsonic VG1655 is one of the few products I've purchased that so well exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended. 5 |

I've used a 24 Viewsonic VX2452-MH for years to edit with Pro Tools on a Mac Mini and wanted something bigger or possibly a dual monitor setup. I tried a 32 Viewsonic VX3276-4K-mhd but the internal power supply had an annoying hum and the screen just wasn't as nice as my 24. B&H's great return policy allowed me to exchange the 32 for the 27 VA2759-SMH. Although a bit smaller than the VX3276, it's a much nicer screen and almost a perfect match to my older 24 despite this being a IPS monitor and my VX2452 is a TN monitor. Very pleased with the monitor and with B&H! 5 |

I could not be more pleased with this ViewSonic product. The OLED screen produces a gorgeous image. The unit is feather light. The integrated stand is much sturdier than I anticipated. I am finding myself to be much more productive using this portable screen than using the Xybec Tri-Screen that I was previously using. It's simpler to carry; it's simpler to set up, and it has far, far better image quality. In shorter, where has this been all my life? I agree with some reviewers that the cover that comes with the monitor does not readily attach. To protect the monitor when I am carrying it, I am using instead a Ruggard ultra-thin sleeve that I ordered with the ViewSonic monitor. 5 |

The Viewsonic TD1655 worked perfectly out-of-the-box including the touch screen. Didn't even need calibration adjustments. In five minutes I was up-and-running, INCLUDING extended display (it is the upper-left in the photo). If you don't need a touchscreen, Viewsonic has models at lower price points. It fits in my backpack briefcase and my messenger bag and has a protective cover that snaps on magnetically. I had borrowed, tried or bought-and returned four portable monitors, none of which worked without some effort. One didn't work at all despite an hour of trying everything I could think of (and it wasn't cheap). Another required a separate power source - for a portable monitor? Seriously, they expect me to carry another power supply on the road? From those experiences I looked at the specs of a couple dozen more, and then decided to try the Viewsonic TD1655. It is head-and-shoulders above all the others, even ones that were more expensive. The only possible exception was the Lenovo M14. I have used Thinkpads exclusively for years, currently have four between my wife and myself (all Yogas). I really wanted it to be the one, but the smaller screen was a deal breaker. After receiving the Viewsonic I discovered, besides the larger screen, that it had better features and more adjustments. Search no more and don't waffle about a few dollars. This is the only portable monitor to buy. 5 |

I *thought* this was an HDR monitor because the Dell website listed it as Ultra High Definition in the list of monitors when I filtered for that feature...however it is not. Initially I was really upset and felt that I wasted my money. B&H really tried hard to help any way they could, but their site clearly says that it's not an HDR monitor in the detail specs tab, but I didn't look there because Dell already said it was. BUT, after using the monitor for a few weeks now, I really, REALLY love this monitor! It's soooooo big, and beautiful with awesome color depth. If you download the Dell monitor software, you can even schedule the brightness and contrast to change according to the time of day (looks like there is 2 settings: day and night...but you might be able to do more detailed scheduling). It even allows for transitions between the two settings so they gradually take effect over, say, an hour (or whatever you want.) I'm usually working with lower ambient lighting in the evening hours, so this is a fun feature to play with. I do wish it had an ambient light sensor to change the brightness automatically, but that's okay. You can even have it automatically dim the screen when your screensaver is going, to save on energy. There's also some great screen sectioning capabilities to split your screen up into multiple zones that you can dock your windows into. Since the monitor is so big, I find it rare for me to ever want to have a window full screen, so this is a great feature as well. Overall, I'm super happy with the quality of this monitor!!! Yes, I'm disappointed that I still cannot edit my photos in HDR, but I don't regret this purchase because it's definitely better than what I had before! 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this monitor for approximately six months. I primarily use it for gaming but also occasionally surf the internet and edit my photos in Gimp and Capture One. The quality of this monitor is excellent, and the picture is beautiful. The firmware has been updated a few times and they made some improvements. I have also tweaked the settings both in the monitor settings and in the AMD Adrenalin software to adjust the colors and brightness. I find the brightness to be perfect and the colors are nice and saturated once I adjusted it to my preference. The matte screen is more like an eggshell or slightly glossy screen which is perfect for me. I also like the dual mode, but I did find sometimes amazingly my computer has a hard time hitting the 480hz on most fps titles but with some tweaking it can there or close on most fps games. I use a 7800x3d along with a 7900xtx and it works well with this monitor. It's expensive but I really enjoy this monitor and feel like it's a worthwhile purchase. 5 |

Great monitor for video editing with solid color accuracy, brightness, and the perfect screen size for a home office. 5 |

Best monitor you can get provided you sit at least 3 feet away. This blew me away with the brightness, glossy screen, and black levels compared to the 34 inch qd-oled that I had. PPI is not an issue at all even at this size. Even 1080p content looks good if my RTX 4090 ever decides to show its age in a few years. 5 |
