Viewsonic Portable Monitor Resolution Settings

The ViewSonic VP27 monitor has excellent image quality and the resolution is prefect for the size. I usually purchase a different brand but decided to try this model because it has a USB-C hub with an ethernet port. It is perfect for an office setup where laptops can quickly connect and disconnect. Highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I work from home, it's challenging to get everything done when I need to shrink all the windows and tabs to fit my laptop monitor. I used to have an additional desktop monitor, but it was so large and heavy and not very portable for using not only at my desk, but from the couch or out on the patio. I started using the ViewSonic display just a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it! It's lightweight, glare-free, and easily portable to set up beside me on the couch or out on the patio. It's simple to plug in the two cords from the ViewSonic display to connect it to the laptop. The cords are long enough to give a little flexibility for adjusting your position, but not so long that they get in the way. I only wish my laptop monitor was as good as the ViewSonic display!!

The Viewsonic TD1655 worked perfectly out-of-the-box including the touch screen. Didn't even need calibration adjustments. In five minutes I was up-and-running, INCLUDING extended display (it is the upper-left in the photo). If you don't need a touchscreen, Viewsonic has models at lower price points. It fits in my backpack briefcase and my messenger bag and has a protective cover that snaps on magnetically. I had borrowed, tried or bought-and returned four portable monitors, none of which worked without some effort. One didn't work at all despite an hour of trying everything I could think of (and it wasn't cheap). Another required a separate power source - for a portable monitor? Seriously, they expect me to carry another power supply on the road? From those experiences I looked at the specs of a couple dozen more, and then decided to try the Viewsonic TD1655. It is head-and-shoulders above all the others, even ones that were more expensive. The only possible exception was the Lenovo M14. I have used Thinkpads exclusively for years, currently have four between my wife and myself (all Yogas). I really wanted it to be the one, but the smaller screen was a deal breaker. After receiving the Viewsonic I discovered, besides the larger screen, that it had better features and more adjustments. Search no more and don't waffle about a few dollars. This is the only portable monitor to buy.

i bought the viewsonic portable monitor to use with my chromebook the product arrived in a timely manner and in 2 boxes for extra protection the monitor works great with vivid colors and the touch screen is compatible with my chromebook all and all great product in addition B&H have the cheapest price for this monitor the only downside is the lack of battery in the display if you need one - i don't find it a problem but you might....

I consider multi-touch function than display quality for a portable monitor. The Viewsonic TD1655 gives me a good multi-touch in a reasonable price. Recommended.

I own 3 of these for a portable triple monitor setup. I'm tired of seeing only 1080p or 4K 15.6 inch monitors. 1080p isn't often enough. 4K is a little overkill and you might as well change the resolution on your desktop to 2.5K. Well, this is a native 2.5K display. Oh and it's 16:10 aspect ratio so it's actually 2560x1600. The extra height is glorious for working in Davinci Resolve, Blender, and any other program. It also has full size HDMI which is very rare for quality portable monitors. Don't buy the garbage you see floating around on Amazon when it comes to portable monitors. Buy the ASUS. ViewSonic also has some quality options. I like ViewSonic's 1080p OLED, the physical design is better but it's micro HDMI and well ... it could have been 2.5K. Overall ... as of 2024 this is literally the best portable IPS OLED monitor that's affordable you can buy. I used my xRite color calibration tool to calibrate each monitor to 400 nits and Rec709. You can confidently color grade on these. They have minimal back light bleed. ASUS has been releasing 2.5K 15.6 inch 16:10 (same resolution) OLED panels in some of their latest laptops, so we might see a new Zenscreen like this in 2025 as an OLED panel. However, you can't go wrong with a tried and true IPS panel. These are great. Go for it!

Arrived Sunday (FedEx). A day early, good thing I was home. Have the 2 new monitors setup on a 6' by 30", elevating desk. Just enough room. Strong, sturdy base plates 18"w by 12"d. Arrived in perfect condition and I tell you why. The packaging for the 4381 is a magnitude (10 x) better than how they packaged the 4380. Under Windows 10 (x 64) the installation (Viewsonic's x 64 signed version (drivers)) it magnified the text & Icons by 300% and at first I thought that the high resolution was not working, so, I eventually found out why and lowered it to 100% and got what I expected (pure 3840 x 2160). The optional special features have not yet been explored (split screens and all that). Nevertheless, at this point all is well and they do everything my older 33" HP Pavilions could do, albeit, with greater size and resolution. Older programs that are not resilient in adapting to the native higher resolution will have to use a lower resolution. You will have to experiment with different x by y configurations to find the clearest one. Also download the PDF file - ViewSonic-VX4381-4K/VX4381-4K_UG_ENG (explains it all, especially the menu and wonderful options). Next Year, I will mount them on VESA arm systems and free up the desk space. I am one happy Customer, glad to be back using Viewsonic monitors again.

This is a quality gaming monitor that can keep up with the resolution you need for gaming.
