Vintage Edge Reviews
Giles | 2024-04-26 03:15:13 |
did my homework, checked all the pro-reviews... bought this and ran it head to head with my Nikon 16-25mm. No contest! After about 4.8 this thing is pin sharp from edge to edge and even at 2.8 it is still pretty decent. 5 |

A stunning wide angle landscape lens on APS-C. APS-C reviews on this lens are rare. I'm using this lens on the new 80D. 22.5mm after the crop factor is perfect for wide landscape work. Images are edge to edge sharp from f/8 to f/16 and barrel distortion is minimal. Clarity, contrast, and color is excellent. These qualities are exactly what you want for pro landscape photography. If you're serious about wide angle landscape photography on APS-C, this is the right tool for the job. Don't believe the negative comments on technical reviews claiming that this lens is not worth the money over the EF-S lens options. The only advantage to the EF-S is if you need ultra-wide. This lens is probably overkill for general consumer use. The price is a bit steep. It really comes down to what you're trying to achieve and what you expect. You get what you pay for. If you need it, you need it.. 5 |

This is a professional quality lens! I have been researching this purchase for months and finally pulled the trigger on the Sigma lens rather than the Nikkor. Price was my determining factor because all of the reviews I read and all of the video reviews I watched had them even, or the Sigma a touch ahead. The lens is solid. The focus is immediate and smooth. The images are sharp edge to edge. I use it mainly for outdoor landscape photography and it has not let me down yet. I went to the Adirondack mountains last weekend and below are two of the images I came home with as a result of this lens. If you are thinking about purchasing....JUST DO IT! you wont be sorry. 5 |

After much research, reading reviews and talking to fellow professionals, I decided I needed to upgrade to this lens. The result keeps the Canon EF 16-35 f/2.8 III USM firmly in my array of go-to lenses. The edge to edge sharpness is exceptional. It is well worth the investment and will be a lens you will depend on for years to come. This lens paired with the 5DSr produces stunning images that will please the toughest critical eye and most discriminating clients. A must have for serious amature or seasoned professional. 5 |

I had to rely on the reviews for this brand, before I put it on my Sony A6100. The reviews were right about its sharpness and close focus abilities. It’s a solid performer edge to edge, with great coatings, fast autofocus and easy manual focus. Now I need a 24mm… 5 |

I use this stand for supporting small to medium monolights for edge and back lighting of subjects. I also use it for supporting medium to large soft boxes attached to monolights over food shoots. Before purchasing I read a lot of the other reviews that stated that this stand was solid - those reviews are completely accurate. In fact, this has to be the most sturdily constructed and stable boon stand that I've used to date, and I've been a professional Photographer for over 20 years. It is VERY SOLIDLY CONSTRUCTED and VERY WELL DESIGNED - the plus side is stability, the somewhat down side is it is a VERY HEAVY STAND. If I were to ever need an additional Boom stand, this is the item that I will be reaching for. 5 |

I added this based on positive reviews as much as anything. Other reviewers are right! Been using for a few weeks now, and this has become a favorite lens. Takes incredibly sharp images edge-to-edge. Superb for architectural photography. Lightweight, unobtrusive. Nothing negative about this lens. I was waiting for the Portuguese make, which of course came out a week after I sprang for this! No matter -- a bargain at any price. 5 |

I followed Youtube reviews by Christopher Frost snd Dustin Abbott. Impressed by sharpness edge to edge over zoom range and apertures with no caveats. Also, lack of coma and control of chromatic aberration. I don’t mind the weight as it is for special occasions. I am very pleased with the results I am getting. Good purchase. 5 |

I have not had the lens for more than 3 weeks but the photos are sharp. I debated about the 7-14 f4 but after thought and many reviews I chose this lens. I use it on my Olympus OMD-1. The advantage is you can use a screw on filter and the edge to edge sharpness is superior. This as many have said is a pro built Lens. 5 |
