Vintage Motorola Police Radio Base

The Motorola CLS - 1110 is a fine handheld radio. It has decent range and can be programmed so as not to interfere with other radio frequencies. More than the radio, however, I was totally sold on the customer service I got from B&H. It was as good as I could have imagined leaving no room to ask for more. Thanks-

The CLS-1110 2-way radio by Motorola is small, lightweight and easily accessible for my assisted living staff. If only there was a way to eliminate the protruding antenna (can easily get in the way), this would be the world's most perfect unit!

Just what I needed to complete my portable base radio.

Ordered the Shure 565SD-LC from B&H as a replacement for my Vintage 1953 Shure 55s that went bad on my Yaesu FT-2000. I ordered the Shure 565SD on the advice of a friend who is a Musician and a Ham radio operator. This mic works great! Getting consistent compliments on the audio quality of my radio. I might have to buy another one as a spare. KE0SJQ

Well made. Threads are clean, and assembled easily on my microphone. Base is heavy enough to accomodate a vintage electro-voice 664, and remain stable, with some room to spare.

Somebody call the police cause the plosives have perished.

Haven't really had a chance to try it out yet, am setting up a base station. However, I applaud Midland for marketing a radio that has the transmit power that is advertised. Right smack dab on 5 watts, maybe a tad over, according to my cross needle power/swr meter. The radio seems well built, with well implemented controls. I would prefer a better microphone connection that would facilitate disconnection of the mike if desired.

I'm not using it for lighting or stage, but rather a ham radio antenna. I bought it specifically to use at the base of a mast pole that I needed to tilt over to where I could reach the top and do some work on it. Using this clamp and a pole pounded in the ground, I was able to tilt the top down without the base sliding away from me.

As a police officer, I use this device all day, everyday. It’s amazing.
