My Nikon Monarch 5 rear covers never fit snugly right from the start. I also own a Vortex Viper 8x42 and was impressed by the quality, snug fit of those rear covers, so I bought a set of Vortex to put on the Nikon. Fantastic fit, much better than the original! I've used the Vortex Viper HD 12x50's the last two seasons hunting mule deer in the west, primarily at long range. I've spent extensive time looking through meopta hd's, swarovski's, viper's, razor's, etc. These are every bit as good or better compared to the Viper HD's i've used the last two seasons and they are cheaper. Also, they are made in Japan vs. China (vortex). I'm happy with these so far. The only thing I don't like is that the diopter focus ring can't be locked in place like the viper's. Besides that, these are great! 5 |
