This converter allows me to use my Vivitar macro lens on my new Nikon D7100 camera. I also have many filters for my macro lens so they now work with the Nikon D7100!!!

Don't be put off that it's "only" 16MP. The lack of AA filter plus improved processing means the photos look as good or better than 20MP cameras. It's lightweight and feels great in the hand. I tried the G9 and it just felt too big and uncomfortable, so I decided to stay with the G85. The image stabilization is incredible, especially with those Panasonic lenses compatible with Dual IS II. I was very pleasantly surprised with the high ISO performance as well, getting clean photos up to ISO 6400. Even though it is contrast detect AF, Panasonic's DFD AF system works amazingly well, even in low light. Honestly, it's the fastest and surest autofocus I've ever used (and I've been a photographer for 40+ years). Highly recommended.

What a fantastic lens! Makes 16MP photos on micro 4/3 platform look sharp! Plastic yes, but metal mount. Lens hood is a plus, I wear it all the time either backwards in storage mode or in use as it protects the lens. Would recommend as your very first prime. No IS though, so be careful not to set your expectations too high if you shoot handheld footage while shaking around in pitch darkness :)

Professional use for 24 prints. Great black and white and color prints from 16MP images to large format film.

Considering the name vivitar from years gone by - was never the top brand but made its name present in the camera business. I bought this bag hoping that it would meet my needs but thinking maybe not. After I received the bag - this bag is great - the photo does not do it justice! I love mine!

You would think that a chunk of translucent plastic would be useless as an on-camera flash modifier. I believe this apparatus works as a light distributor in 360 degrees. I tested this product with both a Vivitar 283 and a Vivitar 285HV on a EOS 5D Mark III. It seemed to work best when I set the camera setting to Av mode at a set aperture rather than in M mode and let the flash do the work. Of course, using a slower shutter speed allowed the available light to "invade" the image and allow more "depth of field" with the allowance of light. In the Av mode, the shutter speed was slower, the IS of the lens allowed for a focused image, and that allowed for the exposure to be "perfect" if there is such thing. I cut my teeth on film and digital follows in the tradition of Adam's Zone System and everything works on digital as it did, does in analog. I was completely blown away to this fact. Enjoy your new toy. This is a PJ's staple for "controlled" flash light!

I am trying to use older Vivitar lenses with my current and future Canon camera's. Bought this as it bridged the gap between the cannon bayonet connection and the vivitar screw mount. Tried it yesterday and it works perfectly. The adapter did get stuck on the camera until I used something to grip the ring better....but that's just part of my learning curve.

Most of my work is in the studio doing headshots and groups for corporations and firms. At times I go out and use the speedlights for events, office and groups. I have a 580 Canon and a couple Vivitar 383s for extra light. It tried the 560-VI for extra light (Manual). First impressions: Very comparable to the Canon 580 alhough manual. About the same weight, and similar construction. Almost as powerful, but recharges in about half the time. Wow. The battery door seems to be far more solid and works better. The shoe is metal which should be better. Screen is bright and easy to read like the Canon. Vivitar is not. Vivitar is not as powerful and takes longer to recharge. The 560 has a lot of features close to that of Canon. More than I will need. Also it syncs well with the Canon Camera through a Vello wireless sync. The Camera can wake it up when it goes into sleep mode. Vivital is less expensive a little, but is very cheap in comparison. I highly reommend this exept that I have not field tested it enough. How durable is it and how reliable? While Canon sets the standard, this seems to be awesome, and so far seems to come close at a fraction of the price. PS. The instruction booklet is a little confusing. I think someone in China wrote it..

I got this so I could easily handhold my flash off camera and be able to use older flashes (Vivitar 285) and not worry about damaging my digital camera with too much voltage. It works simple and clean. It included cables for both my D300 and D600.
