Vivitar Mini Zoom Camera Microphone

I found the Impact Mini Softbox to be a good value. I use it with a Vivitar 285HV which has an unusually large bezel. I've found that many diffusers do not fit the large flash head bezel. I personally like the snug (but not too snug) fit as it keeps the Mini Softbox securely in place and helps it to maintain its proper shape.

I've used this on a 300mm Vivitar zoom lens with no trouble. The aperture dial isn't the smoothest thing I've ever turned, but its not bad. It isn't silent though. I haven't had any trouble with the lens release either. Just remember that you may have to wiggle the lens a little to make the catch come loose rater than breaking off the thumb lever. The 1.4x converter lens in the middle isn't bad either. I can't see anything significantly bad about it. Pro-photographers with better eyes than I have may say otherwise. This does give you a substantial zoom, especially when paired with a 300mm lens like mine. Its worth it if you have old lenses and can't afford a new Cannon 300mm zoom--and a lot of us can't!

I bought the NTG for a camera microphone but found it has more use to replace my computer microphone for Zoom calls.

It is a fun look, like a mini camera. The gooseneck mounting system works very well with a desktop computer, as you are looking directly into the camera instead of the camera looking down or up on you. The microphone picks up well. It automatically installed on the Mac computer.

I take a lot of video of high school marching bands with my Canon HF20 HD video camera and from the stands the sound usually has a lot of fan noise especially when I use a wide angle lens to get more of the field in view. This microphone picked up all of the sounds of the band from well over 100 feet away and reduced unwanted sounds to a pretty acceptable level. I do this for fun and to build video shows for the kids to see. The combination of great sound with HD quality video makes for a great show. yep, a bit pricy but if better audio (on a Canon video camera with the mini advanced accessory shoe) is what you're looking for it's a great product and very easy to use. The only knock is that from what I can see you can only use the microphone with a mini advanced accessory shoe kind of limiting future uses - if I had any...

We use this microphone attached to a mac mini and high definition Samsung TV with a logitech camera. It works really well. Very easy to setup and has crisp audio.

Zoom calls are so much more effective with this camera. I also use it for live meetings when I need to walk about with a microphone and the tracking is seamless. I highly recommend it!

This camera works well on Zoom and other live streaming. I have used it inside and out. It is very forgiving with lighting. I don't always use the built-in microphone but when I do, it works well.

I'm using the microphone with my Canon 7D and a Zoom H4n recorder. I got a Rycote Universal Camera kit that includes a mount and windshield. I was very hesitant to buy a microphone at such a comperatively low price, since I know how important sound is and that it is better to invest in the best quality. I am very impressed, however, with the quality of sound I am getting. I know a sound expert will probably be able to tell me how much better a Sennheiser 416 is. But to most ordinary people, including me who have been doing professional camera work for years, the audio sounds, well, just great. The look and feel of the microphone speaks of quality. The length is also perfect for a DSLR and even on a wide lens, the microphone mounted on the camera's hot shoe does not get into shot.
