Mounted my 200-500 Nikon VR lens on my D850 camera and shot the moon last week. This was the test I was looking for in a new Tripod. This one passed with flying colors. Excellent for the price!

for 300 to 500 depending on accessories this is the absolute best way to get into vr for those who cant afford the top of the top. corded works perfectly for steam vr and the standalone quest games.

Only used it a little so far, but all the photos are fantastic sharp. Hand hold at 500 mm and VR works great.

I mounted this foot on my 500 VR before I put the lens on the camera. The foot appears to be stiffer than the OEM foot which makes for a more stable lens that is less prone to vibration. The foot also allows the lens to have a lower profile, especially considering the milled slots for the QR does not require the added weight and height of an accessory plate. The foot itself is heavier than the OEM foot, but add a plate, and you are going lighter with the replacement foot. The foot is long enough to allow my D700 sans battery pack to balance on my gimbal head. There is no issue at all with heavier cameras (D2x/F5). The plate is high enough to allow the foot to be used as a handle for carrying the lens. Despite it's cost, it is a worthy accessory for the 500 VR.

Bought this specifically for Nikon 200-500 VR. It is a bit tight on the hood, but I wrap the lens in a plastic bag, which helps it slide out more easily. Also helps to keep the 200mm lock engaged so the lens does not extend to 500mm while removing from case. Well made case, much better than the Nikon pouch provided with lens, too.

If you are ready to get a telephoto lens of high quality and you can't spend $4000+ for the 300mm f/2.8, then get the next best thing. The 300mm f/4. Let me tell you this is one fine lens and just over $1000 it's worth every penny. Also this lens works very well with the TC-1.4E II to make this a powerful 420mm f/5.6 lens. BUY IT NOW!!!!! Expertise: No Pro, but love taken pictures. Problems Encountered: None. But it would have been nice if it also had VR. Took a point away from the design because of this one thing. Previous Equivalent Item Owned: 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 VR Items I Recommend: D200
