Wan To Ethernet Cable

This is the simple but versatile device that I recommend as a router for all my friends and family, and will also use as an access point for them or small businesses where integrated solutions are too complex for a handful of users. Qualcomm Atheros chipset, with 350 Mbps WAN To LAN capability routing. Firmware has stabilized and now I am able to fully recommend (January 2021), albeit feature set is still lacking compared to AirRouter predecessor, but offers core abilities for baseline users. For the airCube, plug the ethernet from the modem into the WAN (eth0), then you may connect your computer via wireless or ethernet to the LAN ports (PoE In, 2, or 3), typing in https://192.168.1.1 in your web browser, with ubnt as username, and password printed on the label beneath. Most people are now aware and desiring to minimize wireless radiation, so I recommend them to turn off the 5 Ghz wireless, and configure the 2.4 Ghz for 20 MHz Channel Width, select channel 1, 6, or 11, while starting with 5 dBm output power (transmit power is logarithmic, so 5 dBm is 3mW, wile 20 dBm is 100 mW), and choose the SSID Name and Password. Look for a signal strength of -80 dBm or better (-55 to -60 dBm ideal) is recommended for stable links, and increase the output power until that range is achieved for desired places. Obviously, line of sight and height is appreciated for more effective communication. Increasing the Tx power on any wireless device will create a noise for other wireless devices. The rest you could choose to remain as default or configure more. 5 |

I use this with my Orbi Wifi 6 model. And thank god I don’t have to do Wan aggregation anymore. I just use one 2.5 wan port to my 2.5 to my router. 5 |

I will start by saying that my ISP is Vyve Broadband. I carried my rented cable modem along with my new Netgear DOCSIS 3.1 High Speed 32x8 Cable Modem (CM1000) out to the local Vyve Broadband office. They pulled up my account and removed the rented cable modem, the added my Netgear cable modem information that is required for activation. I changed my internet service to the 200 Mbps plan. After returning home I hooked up my new Netgear CM1000 cable modem, the cable to its input and a short CAT6 cable from the WAN connection to my Netgear router WAN port. I powered on the devices and the modem and router went to work, with various lights blinking. It took only about 5 minutes and the cable modem had set itself up completely and with the Netgear router. I logged in to the cable modem to have a look at the stats. I then went to a speed test sight which showed that my download was 211 Mbps and upload 20 Mbps. All of my PCs, router, switch and access point connect at 1000 Mbps instead of the 100 Mbps that it used to. Am I satisfied and happy with this purchase??? You better believe it. 5 |
