Having owned FL-36 for over two years I was a bit disappointed with it because it ran on only two batteries and had a habbit of draining them too quickly. As I mostly photograph children who can't stand still for too long while the FL-36 recharges, I decided to buy the FL-50R. FL-50R arrived yesterday and the first impression was that it is significantly bigger and heavier than the FL-36, but it also feels much sturdier and it looks like a real professional piece of equipment. It is much more powerful, recharges from empty in just 4-5 seconds with new NIMH batteries and the extra gadgets that come with it are very userful. I used it with my E-510 both on and off camera. When off camera it can be set to slave mode, and then it fires when it detects light from another flash. The foot that comes with it has a standard tripod mount so you can easily set up a small multi-flash studio for taking portraits in your room. I am very satisfied with the FL-50R and I only regret for not getting it sooner. 5 |

I have a FL-36 for a year now, and I've used it with my old C5050 as well as with the new Evolt 510. I've never used any plain batteries as they don't last long enough - I use NIMH rechargeables instead and they perform OK.When the FL-36 fires with less than maximum power, it recharges quickly and it is even possible to use it for sequential shooting. BUT, if you crank it up to max power, it takes 5-8 seconds to recharge, and that means you can miss the moment, which is something that should not happen with pro equipment.I've improvised a bounce diffuser (taped a piece of white glossy paper to the head) and the results are satisfactory. The FL-36 is small enough to be carried in a jacket pocket. Conclusion: Being an amateur photographer, I am more than satisfied with the FL-36. Pros will probably be better off with something more powerful, like the FL-50. Expertise: Advanced amateur Problems Encountered: Recharges slowly. Ships without a bounce diffuser. Items I Recommend: Rechargeable NiMh batteries 5 |

I shoot commercial and Fashion photography in the Tampa bay area. I am also a member of Nikon Professional Service. I wanted a light and fast prime for portraits, head shots and fashion on the D300s. I looked at the 50mm F1.4 but the 1.8 gained better scores in corner to corner sharpness and auto focus. I am very happy with my purchase through B&H of the 50mm F1.8G. This lens fits the bill perfect. Amazing bokeh and very very sharp. You will not regret getting this lens! 5 |

I love this case!! Just did a major conference at Tampa Convention Center and this fit in perfect with other cases. Fits a lot inside and well built. I do wish all four wheels would lock instead of only 2 but outside of that I love it. 5 |

I had to watch a few Youtube clips to figure out the remote and technique and workflow for good time lapses. Overall its a simple easy to use set up well made rail and I am happy with it. My only annoyance is some of the settings have to be redone if you power off . Example if you forget to reset the start stop positions and don't watch it complete the sequence you find it tying to drive though the end stop with the belt slipping and if its not switched of damage to the pulley and belt. It really should loose 1 star for that. They do have a spare belt included. A pleasant surprise is the battery life is great and the batteries a common fitting so I can use Sony style batteries from my LED light. 5 |
