I bought this camera for two things. To video dogs I was grooming and to video dogs I was training. I use these videos for training new employee purposes as well as for the customers enjoyment. I've already posted one on my YouTube channel. It does come with a non waterproof back to the waterproof camera case so you can record sound better. Perfect for what I'm doing. I'm not going to submerse the camera but it may get splashed a bit when bathing a dog. It should be splash proof even with the slotted back on it. I attached it to a chest harness while I was grooming and that worked out much better than a helmet cam would have. You can see clearly everything my hands are doing. And because it's attached to a chest harness it's right under my chin so picks up sound well. Surprisingly it was not in my way at all, although I looked a bit odd with it on. This waterproof camera case for the Canon PowerShot G1X Mark III looks rugged and should protect it from water damage(I have to repair my camera due to it being out in the rain.). The only issue was FedEx left it at the wrong address which thankfully is a short walk from my residence.

Bought this case for Canon digital camera waterproof case, WP-DC51. It fits snugly and just what I needed for travel protection. Lightweight neoprene, not too bulky, snaps on back to close securely.

I was looking for a turret camera for my new place but wasn't sure on distances and angles as I had not moved in yet. I was also concerned about lighting as it would be very bright in the first half of the day and dim during the second half of the day. I installed the camera (I had to look up a video to figure everything out to get it apart and then installed). My only issue with the camera is that when WDR is turned on, the image starts to have additional artifacts / graininess added to the video. This is somewhat understandable since the image is being processed. Turning off WDR make this go away. Due to the high resolution of the camera, when I am viewing multiple cameras in blue iris, this camera appears a little blocker than lower resolution cameras. Lowering the resolution closer to 1080p resolves the issue if needed. I left it at 3200 1800 which gives me 30 fps at 60hz while still giving me hq video. If I select to view only that camera feed, the video resolves fine. I suspect this might be a limitation with the blue iris software. IR works great and different IR cameras kick in depending on the zoom level. I also have an exterior mic attached to the camera which is working great.

Overall, I LOVE the Lumix S1. I use it mostly for it's 10bit 4k video ability. The 4k resolution and detail is spectacular. It's 10bit color in HLG and VLog is great and it's VLog dynamic range is THE most I have EVER seen in any camera before. It's 150Mbp/s 4k long GOP CODEC is surprisingly tough. It encodes VERY well down into the shadows and allows you to aggressively stretch colors upward without seeing the noise floor and compression artifacts that you certainly would expect. Auto focus is not on Sony's A+ level but it's not terrible either. I would rate it's AF a solid B grade performer. Now for the one bad part - In VLog, the S1 and S1H suffer a severe defect in terms of blue LED lights. Actually, they are completely intolerant to any kind of blue lights in dark scenes. In fact, they will go berserk and clip the blue very, VERY badly. The blue clipping will swallow areas all around any blue LED light, completely ruining your shot. However, this does NOT happen in HLG at all. HLG is perfectly fine in the exact same scenes. I believe this can be fixed in firmware but until then, when using VLog, be EXTREMELY careful with any blue light in your shot. (i.e stage lighting or wedding receptions, etc..) If you see blue, switch to HLG....don't risck it! With that problem aside,...this is a PHENOMENAL camera in sooooo many ways. I'm very much in love with it! (I left Sony for this camera because of it's 10bit video)

My video conference calls using the camera’s mic were horrible. The Blue Snowball made a huge difference.

I use this with my canon r5 with a kondor blue r5c cage and 100-500 RF lens (along with a host of others) to comfortably carry the camera and have it available for photography. I walk or hike for hours with it and it is very comfortablel. If I am walking around I may have my hand cup the camera, clearly it is going to bounce on your hip somewhat. I saw someone said it was small, but as a former power lifter with a 52 in chest, well it fits just fine. The snap with an extra button to affirm the release has been very reliable. Very much recommend for folks with similar needs to have the camera at ready while you are walking or in situations you would like your camera close-by.
