Host controllers (in contrast to hubs) do better in certain ways, For example, when using software to burn to multiple CD drives. The card has a port to plug in SATA power; they explain this is to give it added power (I believe for charging - not sure if for general operation), but it works fine even without it - at least for standard operation to devices that have wall power.

These are great batteries, easy to charge. I use these in flashlights, remotes and xbox controllers. I am done with expensive disposal battery purchases since they have gone up exponentially in cost.

On/Off switch - Automatically goes off when closing down computer and you can use it to charge something.

Simple to use and loads of ways to use the Microphone (podcast, interview, etc.) just by a switch on the back. I was amazed by the sound quality and the overall quality - it's a small investment with a nice return. I am using the microphone to add seminars to my site.

Maybe it's time to rethink my old ARCnet ways of running all cables as home runs back to the switch. I had a 100 foot run out to my barn and used that to run a AP and security camera off this switch. Works great!

This Ipad is a great design and love all the new ways to make it work with the keyboard and pencil - I am able to charge all 3 with one plug! I really love this new design and highly reco it.
