I've used WD for over 40 years and I've never had a problem.

This is a work horse mic used by every sound engineer to record any type of instruments:brass, percussion, etc.

I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments.  The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections.  Versatile and great sound quality.

the filter is very good. there certainly will be a learning curve to get the most out of this technique. brass threads make this the easiest filter i have ever screwed on or off in over 40 years pf photography. would recommend this filter, clean colour easy to thread on and off

Feels like a quality product. Screws in and out very smoothly. I like that it's made of brass, which should prevent galling with the lens' aluminum filter threads. A worthwhile investment, as it it enables me to use my 72mm filters, which I bought for my M.Zuiko 40-150mm tele, with my 12-40 M.Zuiko lens without having to purchase a separate set of filters for each lens.

Over my 40+ years of pro shooting, I only buy Heliopan (or B+W) 'brass-threaded' filters. They have consistent color, no nasty 'X' patterns, and never foul my expensive lens' threads.

This is my first ballhead, paired with a Gitzo carbon fiber tripod, and it's really changed the way I look at capturing images. I'm sure all the options at this level are very good, and I can only speak to the performance of the BH-1, which is tremendous. I have used it to support a variety of EOS bodies and lenses for stills and videos, and it's been wonderful. I have owned a couple nice aluminum tripods and heads in the past, but usually left them at home since they were too heavy/clunky/cold to the touch in bad weather. The BH-1 is rock solid, smooth, and quick to use. I will say when I got the ballhead, the motion wasn't as smooth as I anticipated. Kirk recommends occasional cleaning with WD-40. When I wiped the ball down with WD-40, then a clean cloth, the motion became wonderfully smooth. I know it's hard to drop this kind of cash on a tripod head, but over a lifetime (which is how long I plan on keeping mine), it's absolutely worth it!
