Wd Blue Solid State Drive 1Tb

I recently got a SanDisk 1TB SSD (Solid State Drive) and used a drive cloning device to clone my old 1TB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) to the new SSD. It works wonders in my 15 year old computer! It really speeds up drive-related activities, perhaps as much as 3 or 4 times faster. I think my old HP laptop computer is either a SATA or SATA II type, so I suspect those with a SATA III system would see even better speed results when going from a HDD to a SSD. Gotta love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The WD Blue SN570 1TB SSD is an amazing upgrade to any pc running a traditional hard drive or to replace an existing smaller SSD. Just make sure your computer is compatible to operate an ssd drive. The drive was securely packaged, and was very easy to install. I would recommend that WD includes an extra SSD screw for people with laptop models that don't already have one equipped.

This is my second WD 1 TB drive, and I use them to both store and backup photos from my MacBook Pro (with solid-state storage). Even with lots of RAW files, the transfer rate seems fast. It is small, and easily stored when not in use. There is nothing about this drive that I would change.

Solid state drive worth it.

I have been using a 1TB Passport USB Hard Drive for Mac by WD for second backup. The first is a fatter 1TB WD drive with a useful Firewire connection.Recently, I noted a surge in digital photos in my files that I have been backing up regularly. I am approaching the 1 TB, so I decided to but this modest 2TB drive.It is literally plug-and-play. I shall probably buy another one soon for the sake of making redundant backups. At the current prices, this is a modest investment in securing my digital files.

This is larger than my WD Passport 1TB portable drive. In fact, it can hold 2 WD 1TB Passports, OR a 2TB and a 1TB portable drive. No padding, just a firm soft case for protection. Good quality materials, and stitching. I wish it was a custom fit for my Portable HDs. Smaller would be better.

Modern design. Super fast data transfer. Easy to use. Come with Windows software pack - OBS the WD backup software has been replaced with 3. party software, which works perfect for every situation I can imagine. Price tag, well it's WD so you have to pay a bit more for their well known quality, you get what you pay for. Even if you only need a 1TB drive go buy the largest drive you can afford, because the price difference for a 1TB drive to a 2 TB is not much. (Check price tag at your local hardware dealer, as the price variates) Would I buy a WD My Passport again, yes. Would i recommend it, yes. Conclusions: I love my WD my passport external HDD, it's fast, It's sexy designed and it's red.

I was about to buy a 1tb WD My Passport when I noticed there was also a 2tb model for only$ more & so I could not pass it up. The USB 3.0 seems to add a nice speed burst with my 2012 MBA, but even with my older Mac Pro & USB 2 it still moves data quite fast, plus the drive barely gets warm even during big transfers. I love the portability and the small form factor & it is working great for keeping my large music library handy when needed, or storing/moving around large Pro Tools sessions or Final Cut movie projects. At this point it appears to be a perfect drive for my needs plus B&H got it to me cheaper than * could do with only a couple of extra days shipping time.Overall I am very satisfied and hope this drive continues to work this smoothly for years to come.
