Wd My Cloud Home Flashing White Light

My old MyCloud was no longer being supported so I purchased the WD 8TB Cloud Home Dou. It arrived on time, easy to install and seamlessly was able to copy my old data to my new Cloud. My old cloud was 4 TB so I bought the 8 TB to have autobackup.

While it is not likely the WD My Cloud Home Duo 4TB 2-Bay Personal Cloud NAS Server (2 x 2TB) will not work or fail, this plan provides an easy way to get service. Going through WD works but is not easy and not quick in response.

I purchased it to back up excessive files from My Cloud drive of WD, so I did NOT have to replace filled up drives on My Cloud drives. This Element 14 does have a feature of drive sleep which did NOT indicated in the instruction manual of web site of WD. This is a good feature included. I have NOT used it long enough for reliability, but I have used several WD drives at my satisfactory level.

I ordered the WD My Cloud 32TB 4-Bay NAS Server from B&H and after a few days I realized that I had ordered the wrong item I want the the PRO not the EX so after about a week I call B&H told them what I had done and the said no problem shipped out the WD My Cloud PR4100 32TB 4-Bay NAS Server I wanted and set up a RMA for the return of the 1st NAS... they even sent the return postage label all in about 8mins... one call that's all. I purchased 2 WD 10TB internal NAS drives for my My Cloud EX2 Ultra box. They came right on time as scheduled. I installed and configured them including updated firmware to OS5. They worked and connected with my other WDMyCloud 5TB device that give me a total capacity of 25TB storage. These WD Cloud NAS devices allow me to store and backup all my pictures, music, and teaching materials and sharing them with my families and friends from anywhere. My other cloud storages such as Flickr, Google photo and Apple are getting more expensive annually for me.

I needed an off computer storage solution for our family during COVID-19 lockdown. The kids were home from college doing their work, my wife working from home as well as myself. I could have gone for a traditional NAS but had read a lot of reviews on unreliability and difficulty setting them up and maintaining them. Although My Cloud Home is a sort of NAS, my understanding was that its much easier to set-up and run. I decided to go with My Cloud Home vs. a traditional NAS setup and very happy I did. Setting the unit up was super simple with the WD application and easy to access from anywhere via the mobile and desktop applications. Everything I wanted to save transferred over perfectly without a hitch. You can set up folders for documents, photos or however you want to do it. The My Cloud Home connects directly to our Netgear router and runs off our home Wi-Fi 6 network. We're on Xfinity and have had the network go down several times since installing the My Cloud Home and it has started back up without any issues at all or loss of data. The only thing I would say is that I should have gone for the 8 or 10 Gig version and may very well upgrade later on. Not sure 3 Gigs (after splitting the 6 Gig memory into two) is going to be enough down the line. But for now were only about 10% full and have a long way to go. Ours is the two drive model so you can use all 6 Gigs like it's one drive, but you loose the double back-up if you set it up that way. I prefer to have a double back-up of the data. In terms of aesthetics the My Cloud Home is a very nice looking piece of kit. We have it out in the open were it can be seen and it looks very nice.... much nicer than the standard NAS industrial looking enclosure. All-in-all, with the set-up and accessibility taken into consideration I'm really pleased with the My Cloud Home. We've been running it a number of months now without any issues what so ever.

This is a very nice headlamp, without two levels of white light, a red light and a flashing red light.  Having the battery pack on the back makes it much easier to balance and the straps are adjustable over a wide range.

Bright white light is very bright. Red/red-flashing light is cool -- not sure if I'll ever use it. Good fit and balance (with batteries in back). Lightweight and comfortable. Looks suitably geeky. Very happy with my purchase.

Works as advertised! It's responsive and easy to use. My only minor complaint is the flashing blue light which can be a little annoying in a dark venue But, I realize there has to be some way to know that it's on

My APC UPS sounded off every few hours with beeps and a flashing red light to let me know it was time to replace the battery. I ordered online and the battery arrived sooner than expected. I installed it and it's been working fine since. The part I especially like, I didn't have to shut everything off to install.
