Wd My Passport 1Tb External Hard Disk Drive

I am using this case to store my WD 2TB My Passport External Hard Drive. The cover is semi rigid which provides some protection against accidentally banging the hard drive, although I would not want to drop the hard drive. It also provides a separate area for storing the USB cable which comes with the hard dive. Very convenient.

I love everything about this external hard drive; it's the fourth WD My Passport drive that I have bought. I formatted it for my MacBook Pro and use it with Time Machine. It's fast, compact, it has a large capacity and it looks great. I'll be happy if this unit performs as reliably as it's three siblings.

Having had an issue with an older WD 4TB My Passport External Hard Drive, you may wonder why I bought another one. Well, turns out that I believe the issue with the older one was actually an issue with my iMac and OS update. After recovering the data from my older ED, I reformatted it, and it has worked flawlessly since. Let's just hope that it continues to. I purchased this one just to log my Time Machine back ups.

If Western Digital made in an 8 TB shirt pocket portable external hard drive I could buy at a low enough price, I would. However, currently, it appears that only the 4TB size or capacity My Passport portable external hard drive is available. The current one I got is yellow, because that's the color I want it this time. I like to get different colored portable hard drive so I can more easily distinguish between them, since I keep different content on different portable hard drives. Last year, I bought a red colored 40b my passport portable external hard drive through Best Buy. I believe I paid around $130 or so for it. And it has worked just fine. I store all of my movies and digital videos solely on that red Drive. But it is getting close to being filled. So I needed to get another portable hard drive to put new movies on it. I'm just trying to figure out which movie is I will put on which hard drive. It has been so nice having them all on one drive heretofore, making searches for what I have and where I have it quicker and easier. I transferred all of my documentaries on to mine yellow it's hard drive that I just bought from BH photo. It seems to be working flawlessly, as my other WD My Passport drive has and does. I will add that it only took 3 days from the time my new yellow WD My Passport 4TB portable hard drive shipped from New York that I received it in Utah, which is great! (Usually, it often takes a full week)! It was a little weird to have to wait until a certain time in the evening, when The Jewish Sabbath ended, I suppose, before I could digitally order the hard drive from them on Saturday evening. However, I too am religious, and believe In keeping the Sabbath day holy--so I can understand why they do what they do, somewhat. I we paid around $110 for this WD 4 TB hard drive, which is about 20 bucks less than a cost me for the same hard drive through or from Best Buy last year sometime.

I have been using a 1TB Passport USB Hard Drive for Mac by WD for second backup. The first is a fatter 1TB WD drive with a useful Firewire connection.Recently, I noted a surge in digital photos in my files that I have been backing up regularly. I am approaching the 1 TB, so I decided to but this modest 2TB drive.It is literally plug-and-play. I shall probably buy another one soon for the sake of making redundant backups. At the current prices, this is a modest investment in securing my digital files.

I've been using this with my WD Passport drive (1TB) and it's worked great. The interior strap is very secure to hold the external drive in place so it doesn't bump around, and it has another mesh pocket for the drive cord. An older drive was beat-up in the bottom of my backpack during grad school, and this prompted me to better protect my newer drives for work later on. If you're considering this, just go ahead and get it! It'll protect your external drive and if you move around with it at all, it's entirely worth it for a cheap cost.

I just added the WD 4TB Elements External Desktop Hard Disk Drive to my� back up solution (6 hard drives) and Windows 10.� I disconnected the power and USB cable from a full WD hard drive and replaced it with this new drive and fired it up. It works great, just like I would expect from Western Digital.
