Wd Passport Pro Thunderbolt Cable

This seemed double the thickness of my OEM WD 3TB passport cable with much needed length! The cable connected tightly & worked fine with my passport & smart tv, through the usb 2.0 port displaying 1080P video on the TV's video player. I'm happy with this purchase, & I'd buy this same one again if needed. A great & worthy upgrade! B&H is my first choice for anything computer & electronic related. The case is the perfect size for my WD My Passport, 4TB external hard drive. �There are separate compartments in the case to secure both the hard drive and the USB cable. �I am confident that the hard drive and cable will remain well protected for a long time due to the hardness of the case's exterior. �Just perfect!

I misplaced the data cable that came with WD My Passport for Mac (P/N: WDBBXV0010BBK-01) and needed a replacement cable. I knew it's a micro type B cable so I purchased an Amazon Basics micro type B cable. To my surprise, however, the cable didn't fit. So I was forced to buy another cable - this one. It's such a good cable that I was able to retrieve the contents stored in the WD My Passport for Mac.

I was about to buy a 1tb WD My Passport when I noticed there was also a 2tb model for only$ more & so I could not pass it up. The USB 3.0 seems to add a nice speed burst with my 2012 MBA, but even with my older Mac Pro & USB 2 it still moves data quite fast, plus the drive barely gets warm even during big transfers. I love the portability and the small form factor & it is working great for keeping my large music library handy when needed, or storing/moving around large Pro Tools sessions or Final Cut movie projects. At this point it appears to be a perfect drive for my needs plus B&H got it to me cheaper than * could do with only a couple of extra days shipping time.Overall I am very satisfied and hope this drive continues to work this smoothly for years to come.

In a word - it works! We received the drive bay, connected it with the B&H Thunderbolt cable, plugged in a WD black drive and had 90MB/s write and 100MB/s read according to Blackmagic speed test on a 2011 vintage iMac. It was nice that the drives came up instantly. We connected power, the thunderbolt cable and stuck a drive in. OS 10.9 recognized it instantly.It blows away the eSATA Sonnet 5-bay drive connected through a P34 to Thunderbolt system. That thing barely runs at 28MB/s. My USB3 WD Passports give me 48MB/s. I wish the case were more sound and that it covered more of the drive. It really looks like it was built for SSD based on the form factor. This isn't something I'd use in a tough field environment but at the desk, it's not too bad. The price is right, far below that of other way overpriced enclosures. Really should a 5-bay drive cost 6 bills? No, it should be priced at what this unit costs.Drive arrays are massively overpriced compared to all other electronics. But price for delivery, I'm happy we bought this. Once more reasonably priced arrays come up, we'll supplant this one but until then, it's working fine so far.
