[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've been having some really strong storms here in Central Virginia we had a record-breaking tornado season yesterday that never happens ever we have weather radios at work that take a 9 volt battery they are State radios and very old we pop one in and it worked immediately it helps keep us safe with all the updated weather report in our area alerting us with two tornado warnings battery came at perfect timing

I haven't used this under the stars due to lousy weather here in western NY state (snow three straight days! In mid-April!). But I have mounted my equipment: Nikon d5300 w/kit lens; Newer ballhead; move-shoot-move tracker; Skywatcher equatorial wedge. The setup is steady as a rock. When dealing with astrophotography I have read that tripods should be loaded to about two-thirds capacity. This tripod is rated for 30 pounds, so 18-20 pounds should work. I'm not worried about loading it with my SV60D, but I don't see me trying my SV90T with an Ioptron or Skywatcher tracker. Maybe an 80mm or 72mm. We'll see.

Great notebook. I use this as my gardening tracker so it holds up well.

The jaws of this clamp are very strong and would hold the GoPro through a tornado! Really like this clamp - its super flexible and very handy to mount a GoPro wherever we need! Worth the money!

Several times I thought about using the Z-Drive partner unit by itself to save a little weight and space. By the time I moved the C300's recoil rig around a few times, I reattached the Tornado Grip back into the Z-Drive socket. The Tornado Grip is just perfect to maintain shoulder balance and easily move the camera around.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is SOLIDLY BUILT. I think my cables and earbuds could survive a tornado in this thing. It's sleek (for its capacity) and professional looking.

I use this with the Zacuto Recoil Rig. It's compact and locks in place great. I use the Tornado grip with it and they are a perfect pair. I couldn't be happier with this system.

Is it as expensive as a used malaise-era sedan? Yes. Should you consider anything else? No. This is the second Recoil kit I've had, and for good reason. I loved the first one so much, when the budget came through to get some new gear I immediately had this on the list. These are built extremely well, very robust, and it looks even better in person. You definitely look like a pro when you're holding the Recoil. I recommend splurging for the Tornado grip accessory, though. It's definitely something that benefits from having two arms, and the Tornado is extremely handy for extra balance, and focus control.

After our home was destroyed in a tornado, along with all of our possessions, I decided to pursue a case where certain documents and valuables could be saved. With very little research being necessary, I came to one conclusion: Pelican Cases are the standard for which all others are judged. I now use this case to store everything I possibly can. The modular foam inserts make organizing everything quite easy as well.
