I'm amazed that this zoom recorder does so much for such a cheap price. The gain dials work great and there is an attenuation switch right next to each dial so you don't have to go into the menu if things get super loud. I was using the Roland r-26. The zoom does a few things that the Roland can not. It has 2 extra XLR inputs. You can control which channel you hear in the headphones and how loud it is in relation to other channels. I have the stereo mics that come with the zoom set to 5 on the gain dial and leave it there to record the same audio that my cameras are recording so I can sync the audio easily later. I turn the volume of that channel down to mute in the headphones so I don't have to hear it over the audio I'm actually trying to record with the XLR mics. The recorded audio sounds great. On one shoot I forgot my Shotgun mic and was forced to use the stereo mics that come with the Zoom. The audio was quite good. If you shoot in the studio like I do, this doesn't come with an ac power supply but it does come with the mini usb cord. You can find a cheap phone charger at any electronics store that will work with this recorder. I couldn't find a longer usb cord anywhere so I use an extension cord. The only thing I wish the zoom and every other recorder I've tried would do differently is give the option for all of the recorded files to end up in a single folder. Every time I hit record it sticks the files in a new folder. Then I have to manually open every folder to drag the files into premiere.

Let me start with the one small negative. The new control joystick feels very flimsy. It is the only part of the recorder that does not feel solid. Ok one other negative. Be nice to have a cap for the unit when the capsule is off. I also wish that they had kept the folder button that they had on the H4N. You now have to go menu diving to change folders. Something that I personally change fairly frequently; for example so that I can randomly pick up ambient sound and put it in it's own folder then switch right back to main audio etc. Aside from those few niggles the recorder is not only amazing but it managed to improve on the already historically good H4N. Love the dials as opposed to the lever of the H4N. Also love the removeable capsule option as well as the over all shape and feel of the unit in hand. The passthrough charging via USB/NiMetal batteries is also a nice addition. The capsule itself is also a nice imporvment. It's vibration dampening is a no brainer since most people using these recorders are likely to use them hand held from time to time if not most of the time. I can say with 100% confidence that the new capsule does result in less handling noise. Other improvents are the battery life as reported and here is the big one. Remarkably faster start up and shut down times even with a 32gig SD card. It's virutally instant even with a fresh card chagne. I have not yet done a head to head recording comparison between the H5 and the H4N but I would like to. My friend also has the H6 so who knows it may be a 3 way battle. My guess is they are all so close that it would be hard to say that one is better but who knows.

Cover protects screen when stored. Be careful this one does not have the fingerprint reader feature.

I purchased this for use as a backup with an Intel NUC that I'm using as a web-server. The web-server has 4tb of storage, so I have Windows set to backup the contents of the web-server onto this drive. It's working great!

This is a reasonably priced web cam (with microphone). I plugged it in, Windows 10 promptly downloaded the driver and it worked immediately. It provides a good and clear picture. I have it clipped to the top of my monitor, which works well. The only shortcoming is that it has a fixed field of view (65 degrees), which is significantly wider than I would like - it captures too much of my home office. After reviewing the other available webcams, it appears that the only way to get a narrower field of view is to buy a webcam with a zoom, which I may do at some point. I have no complaints and would get one again.

Not only is it an excellent web camera, but it also works great with windows hello for facial recognition. It has the additional IR technology needed for accurate and speedy facial recognition. The built in microphone has great quality as well. No issues so far. Thoroughly satisfied

I purchased this for our employees to add dialog to their web based power point type training. It's way better than a webcam mic (which is what we were using before). Sound is clear and not hollow like with the webcam mic. The mini tripod that it came with is perfect for what we're using it for. And it's very compact for when we're done. The install was crazy easy. Plugged it in and Windows obtained the drivers and it was ready to go. The Windows default recording device switched to it as well, but you might want to double check if you have multiple microphones attached.

I use my new Mac Pro for both Video Editing, as well as software support on the web, (using Parallels and Windows). The pure power of this 8 core unit makes everything a breeze. I love it. I used an older G5 for years, but it's day had finally come, (and gone). Love my new Mac Pro.
