This is a well built macro lens that you will either love or hate. If you have used or have a good understanding of macro photography you will be fine. However, if you are new to macro (particularly such an extreme macro) you will need some patience & practice. That said, the rewards will be worth it. This is really less of a camera lens so much as it's more of a microscope for your camera. It is a one trick pony. You can not use it for anything else. It is built like a tank, a little larger than I expected from the photos (but still not big) and very sharp. The biggest trick as others have mentioned is having enough light to work with. Laowa does sell a dedicated ring LED light for this lens that attaches to the front much like a lens hood would. It requires a separate power source (a portable phone charging bank with a USB output works perfect) but it really does help a ton. In fact, I really think Laowa should have included the light with it. Only problem is finding the dedicated ring light (part number VE25LED). As far as I can see, B&H does not sell it. The only place I was able to find one was on a particular website we all know that is named after a rainforest :-) And even there they are in short supply. For what this lens costs, it is well worth the price as long as you know the challenges of such close-up photography.

I'm glad someone still sell 620 film. I have several old box camera that I use for sports photography. This film loads well and the cameras function as they should. It's Tmax, how can you go wrong?
