I purchased this product to move the Windows virtual machine that I run on my MacBook Pro under VMWare Fusion off my internal storage because I was running out of space on the laptop's solid state drive. While I haven't run benchmarks, it appears it to start up and run the Windows apps as fast (or maybe only very slightly slower) than from the Macbook's internal solid state drive. It is an excellent product for this application. 5 |

If you are installing an internal Solid State Drive to your desktop computer, you'll need this SATA wire unless you are able to scavenge one off another attached device that you no longer use. It attaches to the back of the SSD (or other SATA device) and to the mother board. 5 |

I bought this drive to supplement the non upgradable 500Gb internal ssd on my wife’s IMac. It’s been in place for about a month now and is working great. The drive has Thunderbolt connectivity so it’s as fast or faster than the internal ssd. And it’s quiet (no moving parts). Time Machine backup works fine on it as well as the internal ssd so no issues there. All in all a good fit for additional storage. 5 |
