Dependable and robust. If you need it work at all times, then you need a Western Digital. My go to for NAS drives.

Pro photographers need to protect their assets. Western Digital's PR2100 NAS drive does this and more. Western Digital has provided battery backup (using approved uninterrupted power sources) for their PR2100 NAS. Connect the Pr2100 to an approved UPS using WD's USB cable. The NAS will shut down orderly upon a utility power failure, your files are protected. Many other features such as DLNA, Plex, backup and security are also part of this great NAS system.

I needed to upgrade from an older Western Digital NAS to something with more bays. I landed on this QNAP and I am pretty happy with it as it allows me to have more drives AND is somewhat more powerful. It seems a bit more complex but I have called the good people at QNAP tech support on numerous occasions and they have been very accommodating. They even helped me set up an rsync event (is that what it is? an event?) that allowed me to copy the data from my WD to my QNAP. It was so much faster than having my computer negotiate that transfer. So far so good.

Western Digital drives are always my go-to. Performance is always top notch and they run quiet. I have 5 drives in an NAS box and I can’t hear them at all.

I purchased two of this drive as a backup in case my new NAS has issues with the ones it is using. I trust Western Digital with my data!

Western Digital makes a great NAS drive. I have 4 2tb and 1 6tb Red Pro 7200 drives. These are on 24/7 everyday. They work flawlessly. They are fast and beyond reliable. They are also very reasonably priced.

I previously bought Western Digital drives for a brand new NAS. One failed within the first couple of months, and WD took more than 6 months to replace the defective drive, and then only after multiple battles with their CS. I bought the Seagates while that was still open. They installed easily and have worked without an issue. Nothing flashy, nothing special, just plug and play. So, if you're considering various brands, buy the Seagate. The prices are almost identical, and the small premium is worth it.

I have several of these drives although I mostly use the Western Digital, which are cheaper.
