Western Digital Passport Ultra 1Tb External Hard Drive

I bought this little case to protect the Western digital passport Ultra portable hard drive. The case simply does the job

Reliable and easy to use. This is my third Western Digital external hard drive.

I have been using a 1TB Passport USB Hard Drive for Mac by WD for second backup. The first is a fatter 1TB WD drive with a useful Firewire connection.Recently, I noted a surge in digital photos in my files that I have been backing up regularly. I am approaching the 1 TB, so I decided to but this modest 2TB drive.It is literally plug-and-play. I shall probably buy another one soon for the sake of making redundant backups. At the current prices, this is a modest investment in securing my digital files.

Purchased with Western Digital 4TB My Passport For Mac portable external drive. This fits the drive very well, with enough space inside the case to also hold the USB 3 cable. Case also has an external pocket to hold other items such as USB thumb drives or SD memory cards.

I been user of Western Digital external Passport series drives for almost 20 years until last one went brick after falling from table on carpeted floor. I decided I need something that could withstand minor falls like that. After 2 weeks of almost daily usage I can tell that I'm very satisfied with this drive performance. Both read and write speeds are more than adequate. I don't see any difference in Lightroom performance when I'm working on pictures located on this drive compared to my internal laptop drive. Love it's design too - rubberized on peripheral for shock absorption in case of drops and aluminum core for heat dispersion.

My second external hard drive from Western Digital Store

I bought the 1Tb Western Digital external drive to store raw files from my Nikon. This is the best value. I use a smaller Western drive for documents and I know I will be equally as satisfied with this one!

The B&H store sells this drive at a very reasonable price, and provides fast shipping. I've used it on a refurbished desktop computer and expect to get over five years of service. I plan on purchasing more of these dives to provide a second data drive and a portable external hard drive this I can depend on. There are no negatives about this drive.
