Wifi Heat Thermostat

This is my second ecobee thermostat. This one works great with my heat pump. I particularly like the eco + feature.

My wife the dial twiddler would always set our thermostat too high as she thought it would heat up faster if if done that way eg. Accelerator on a car. This unit with the help of Alexa listens to her and never over heats the house.

Switching from another major smart thermostat, it is a trade between aesthetic and functionality. Ecobee has so many options allowing me to tweak every aspect of a heat pump + aux heat system. I really hope ecobee allows me to customize the stand by screen like the competitor.

The Nest Learning Thermostat does what it says and is easy to use. I love the history feature which explains how much heat pump is used versus propane. I got it for my lake house and with its simple app on my mobile I have total control.

I've been wanting a smart thermostat since we moved into our home earlier this year. When winter rolled in and the heat had to be turned on, I could no longer do without it. My house was built in 1926 and still has steam heat with radiators in all the rooms - which I love - but we get crazy temperature variances from room to room and floor to floor (4 levels, leaky leaded glass windows, who knows the status of the insulation - you get the idea). I found myself adjusting the thermostat (or forgetting to) several times a day - in the morning, in the afternoon, after dinner and before bed and with a different schedule/temps on the weekend just to be comfortable as we move to different areas of the house. The ecobee not only allows me to set the schedule with the desired temps on a day by day basis, but it also has the additional sensors so that I can tell it to ignore one sensor and focus on another or to average the temp across 2 or more areas. This means that when it's time for bed, I can tell it to keep my bedroom at the temp that's comfortable and not worry about the rest of the house. Given that when my living room is 70 degrees (which is where the old thermostat was) my bedroom could be as warm as 78 degrees, this is a really nice feature. I haven't had enough time to see what it's going to do to our energy bills, but I have to believe it's going to save us money. Even if it doesn't, I'm a lot more comfortable and spending less time wondering if I forgot to adjust the temperature. Install was pretty easy, but we did have to run a new wire from the boiler. Because our system is old, we don't get to take advantage of all the features, but the ones we do use are well worth it. We'll be getting a second one for the air conditioner in the spring. I don't want to go through another summer without the extra sensors. Thanks to ecobee, I don't have to!

I bought this thermostat to be able to control heat settings when away from home and it works great with both iphone and Android. Also, very easy to install!

I’m able to control the thermostat from anywhere in the world , I raised the heat from Florida for my mom that was watching the house , my 13 year old son read the directions and I installed it. Love it

It feels like I have a thermostat in my pocket with the use of my cell phone. All temperature changes happens instantly at my command. It allows me to heat my main level before kids go down to eat their breakfast before school.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upon initial installation of this smart thermostat, we did experience an issue as the air was blowing heat instead of cool. We believe this happened due to the thermostat shutting down right in the middle of configuration. However, we called the customer service, and they were extremely helpful and got us squared away quickly. Besides the thermostat shutting off on us, we absolutely LOVE it! The eco+ helps tremendously by keeping us comfortable in the scorching heat outside, while also adjusting for the max savings on our power bill. We literally never have to touch the thermostat because our preferences were added to it, and it adjusts itself due to these preferences. We also love that we can control it through the ecobee app without even being near the house. I love having the ability to set the thermostat on “away for now” when nobody is home to provide us with max savings. We are incredibly happy with our ecobee, and will always have one going forward.

Purchased product to manage thermostat for another house. No more driving to the house just to switch between heat and cool, or raise or lower temps. No all of that is managed on the smart phone. Installation was not too complicated. The thermostat is smaller than old digital thermostat and very attractive. Glad we got this!
