Wifi Thermostat That Does Humidifier

This is our first smart thermostat and we are enjoying it a lot, so far. This replaced the thermostat that has been in the house, since the 90s. Installation instructions were pretty straightforward. One thing that I was not expecting to be an issue is our whole house humidifier. The installation of that tied into our furnace really made the wiring different. Luckily, after following the wires around, I found that our “G” wire was capped at the humidifier and wasn’t being used. So I untwisted it from the furnace side and plugged it in. Viola! Works perfectly. My wife got the thermostat for free from her work’s health benefits plan, so it was a no brainer to upgrade to this. I will say though, after some more time playing with this and seeing how well it’s going to work for us, we’ll probably upgrade to the premium one. There is a lot more that I’d like to do with it. Can’t argue with free though. 5 |

I changed from the Nest thermostat that I had for years because I was starting having issues with the thermostat from the WiFi ,to the schedule and Google moving everything to the Google Home app so I gave The Ecobee a try and I am glad I did it has working perfectly during the cold weather that we had. I was able to install it easily in 20 minutes even before the house got cold. 5 |

Love the NEST thermostat! Easy to install. Just follow the directions. Easy to connect to wifi. App works great and love the ability to connect to the Amazon ECHO. Let's you control the temperature using Alexa! 5 |

Bought this for a wifi thermostat with no c wire. Had it up and running in no time. The screw in option is great to keep it in place 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using Ecobee thermostat for years (EMS Si WiFi generation) and the WiFi disconnects every so often so it was kind of an inconvenience. But now that I received the new and improved, I’m so happy with it, it’s looks so much prettier and I still get to use the app to control it! 5 |

Great sound and design. It's unusual however. My daughter thought it is a humidifier when she first time saw it. :-) 5 |

I have a cabin on a piece of land I own that doesn't have electricity so I have been searching for something to power my CPAP (Resmed AirSense 11) instead of using a car battery with an inverter. I managed to get 8 days of usage out of the unit with the spare battery. I was using the AC power and did have the heated tube on along with the humidifier. Average usage per day was right at 11hrs. I have yet to see how long it can go using DC power and without the heated tube or humidifier, but I would assume it would go much further than 8 days. Hands down beyond pleased with this unit and the spare battery! 5 |

I recently purchased this unit from B&H after having some older 35 mm equipment damaged by mold / fungus on the glass lens elements. The Sirui unit is pretty well-made. Caveat: I did have the first unit arrive with serious damage as a result of poor manufacturer packaging, but B&H handled the replacement within 24 hours. Several people have asked about how the water drains from the unit. Well, it is not like an air conditioner or de-humidifier; the unit is only removing a fraction of an ounce of water from the air volume inside the humidity control cabinet to control the RH. It only has to perform this action once after you open and close the door, and then periodically if any moist air should enter the case. Also, it is not a traditional de-humidifier, but rather some sort of light activated catalytic moisture absorbing reaction (see Sirui website for details). So far the unit works as intended. The settings are holding the RH within the stated range of +/- 5%, and once you determine the offset, it holds very steady at the set point. The cabinet has a nice handle and sturdy lock, which is not bugler proof, but is a nice security feature to at least keep the door closed and family out. The energy consumption should be about $0.25 a month based upon the specs I read. I keep (2) large format lenses, (2) medium format bodies, (2) rangefinder bodies, about (12) various lenses, plus meters and speed lights in the HC-110. A smaller collection could easily fit into one of the smaller Sirui cabinets, IMHO, B&H should be selling a lot more of these units. It is a small percentage of the cost of all of my gear, and I feel better about knowing it is stored properly when not in use. 5 |
