I must admit, the first time I unboxed the instrument, I was amazed at the build quality. It has some heft, the keys are properly and ergonomically placed and you know Akai really took their time to perfect this wind controller. But as a long time saxophone player, the first time I actually played some scales, I was quite disappointed - it didn't feel like a saxophone. I was beginning to regret my purchase and thought about exchanging it for the WX5. So I gave it a few more days. Days turned to weeks, and I am beginning to appreciate this instrument. Keep practicing those scales, breathing with the mouthpiece and you realize how this is such an amazing wind controller. I made a mistake thinking that this is a replacement for a saxophone in an apartment situation. In reality, you should think about how this instrument can be an extension to your musical endeavors. The possibilities you can do with the sounds and playability are endless. There are a few usable synths prebuilt, but I suggest using the Akai EWI 5000 Editor to really play and edit your sounds then save it to the user bank. Also there are synths out there that can be used if you plug the EWI as just a midi wind controller; unfortunately you can't upload other synth sounds into the controller. Definitely give it some time to get used to the instrument especially moving from one octave to another. Keep practicing and you'll appreciate that there's hardly any moving parts here. I was opposed at it first since horns have that tactile and key feedback. But with the touch sensitivity, it really felt I was playing an instrument from the future. Again, you just have to get used to it - think about when mobile phones shift from physical keyboards to the modern phones we have today. And here I am today still keeping my purchase and writing a review. I thank Akai for making a top-notch wind controller and continuing the support for the modern electronic wind musician. 5 |

This fits my Rode video mic and definitely reduces wind noise. 5 |

We connected this to an iXZ Mic & Instrument interface to attain professional sound during video recordings using an iPhone 4S. Simple setup. Works flawlessly. Audio is 10X better than using the iPhone's internal mic. 5 |

I bought this to use in my airplane to get video and audio of some of my flights. Had to mount the camera in an awkward place, at a difficult angle, and this mount performed perfectly, even on a four-hour, moderately turbulent flight. It attached to the windshield, just as it curved back toward the instrument panel, and it stuck solidly and resisted the pounding it got, with a 4.5 lb. camera attached (partially supported by the top of the instrument panel). Great solution to an impossible problem. 5 |

We're using this reflector on a 500 watt bulb for video interviews. It gets the job done, and secures to the instrument tightly. I don't have any attachments (gel frames and whatnot) but as a simple reflector, it's all you need. 5 |

Hey, I was SM57-less all along, then got me 3 of them (from BH Photo Video) for instrument miking (including drums), and now I'm placing an order for more of these. You-can't-go-wrong. Only thing though, I was wondering why the top head spun around freely. It does not come off as a result, but it just feels strange/cheap in this area. 5 |

We use these lights for product shots and for interviews, shooting in HD video. Arri makes a very rugged instrument. It is just a great lighting system. Can't think of anything negative. 5 |

This is my second A7Siii. I use the first exclusively for video of events and concerts. When you depend on an instrument like this, it's a good idea to have a backup. Plus a second camera gives you more options on the job. I continue to be impressed with the clarity and quality of video from this camera. I make frequent use of the picture profiles, including log gamma, and especially the cinema profile (PP11) recently added to the menu. I frequently work with poor lighting, which the A7Siii handles at high ISO with no noticeable noise. The full sized HDMI port is essential, as are unlimited clip lengths at 4,2,2 10-bit resolution. 5 |

This is a great instrument for those who shoot film and video and need something lightweight, compact, and sturdy. At 300 watts, it's not bright enough to serve as main light for medium or wide shots, but can provide fill light for those shots and serve as your main light for close-ups. A really great value. 5 |

This microphone brings out all the subtle details of an acoustic instrument or voice. Although it has a cardioid pickup pattern, it picks up two voices very nicely on a video call, better than with a typical dynamic mic. If you want to be kind to your audience don't rely on the microphones built into laptops or video cameras. My Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 provides phantom power, monitoring and a digital interface with my laptop. I prefer a single audio interface with quality preamps over a mic with USB interface. The shock mount works beautifully. A pop filter is a useful accessory but not always necessary. 5 |
