Wired Camera System For Home With Cable Storage

I got this not so much for carrying around but for home storage of my secondary micro 4/3 system, for which it is a perfect fit. Could also be used for a full frame camera and three or four shorter or smaller diameter lenses, but camera body likely would need to be stowed flat without a lens mounted.

Tied into existing pre wired home audio system. Was easy to set up. Sound quality is amazing. Ties into surround sound system. App functionality works well. Some improvements are recommended. Overall 5 Star for quality, value and performance. The packaging is well thought out. World Class Product. Definitely recommend for anyone even if you are not tech savvy.

Great fit! I use the cable for a wired microphone for my video camera.

My cable-company-provided wifi router was giving acceptable speeds, but the coverage was spotty in the corners of my (modest sized) house, so I was looking to upgrade to something a little nicer and with better management features. It's also one of the few routers that has a 2.5Gbit LAN port, for those with a home server with 1Gbit wired network (which I have). The vertical monoloth design is a lot different from the antenna-encrusted models from most other companies, but reviews claimed it actually has good coverage, and indeed it delivered. I now have a solid signal everywhere in the house, and get ~400Mbit wireless just about everywhere, increasing to just under 600Mbit nearby, with no drops to speak of. It's a little bigger than it looks in the pictures, but it's got a pleasant, unflashy design that looks WAY better sitting in the average living room than most routers if your home decor isn't spiky gamer hangout or Cyberpunk den. Just quietly blends in. Also, not covered with aggressive flashing lights--three subdued status LEDs, and you can even disable them if you want. The config software is impressive--it appears to have a full Synology-style OS, with a huge range of features going beyond just networking, if you're inclined to use it as a basic NAS or the like. Took a little while to get used to something so far beyond the simple setup pages of a lot of routers, but certainly powerful, and it also doesn't feel sluggish navigating around. The only possible complaint at this point is that the wired internet routing doesn't seem to be hitting quite the same speeds as I was getting using the cable company's router directly (maxing out at around 800Mbit instead of the ~900Mbit I've seen before), but it's really hard to say for sure whether this is this router's fault or the cable company's.

Have had the door/window sensors with the Smart Camera with voice controls for a few weeks now and have been very surprised with the performance so far. We currently have a wired home security system we have been thinking of replacing, and think we will be going with the Ecobee Security. When one of the doors is opened the Ecobee sensors actually notify my phone a half second before the wired alert from our current system, very impressive. Also love these sensors have motion sensors built in, big plus and help. So far the only flaw we’ve seen is that the camera will go “offline” and cannot view live video, but it seems to still records when someone enters in front of the camera and the sensors performance has not been effected by this. Usually a quick unplug/restart of the camera fixes this, but would like to find out if this is a widespread issue or just my camera doing this. Overall very happy with these products and will be testing the security suite to see how well it performs, and also plan on upgrading our AC Thermostat with the Ecobee one as well.

Door bell is great. Camera is clear and audio works great. I have a wired system that was easy to install, including the door bell adapter.

The Lorex A14 IP Wired Dome Security Camera system works great. The pictures are clear and let you zoom in for a better view. This is the best camera system that I have had.

I recently purchased the Vello Freewave to remove the restriction of the wired cable release. This allows me to control the camera from a distance which is helpful in long exposures as well as when the camera is set up to photograph birds and animals that can be very timid.

This provides me the hard-wired connection I need for camera trigger, without having to stand right next to the camera. The only issue is - and it's true for any long cable like this, not just this one - is that you have to be careful not to pull on it, because this will juggle the camera on the tripod. I recommend securing it to the bottom of the tripod leg, so any pulling occurs there, not at the camera. Unfortunately, this shortens the effective reach of the cable by about 5 ft.. You may want to get two cables and daisy chain them, so you get enough reach to be useful.
