Wired Speakers To Wireless Off Receiver

To replace a cumbersome receiver linked with small wired speakers that had trouble filling the room with enough sound. My Play 5 is proving to be a very worthwhile investment!

Using the AMP to remove an old receiver and power outdoor wired speakers that still work well. (I'll upgrade to Sonos when they give out, but for now it's a great combo!)

We had speakers wired throughout the house, but soon we had issues with the receiver going out. We couldn't play music louder than "3" or the receiver would smell like an electrical fire. Last month we paid an A/V guy to check out our setup. He found RATS had eaten through the speaker coil and wires just enough to keep it working. Rather than re-wire through the attic, the Sonos speaker solution suited us perfectly. We can stream any music to any of our three Play speakers (two Play5 and one Play3). Awesome. We have the Connect but have not set it up yet. I think that's the way we can stream my music library from my iMac. We love the wifi solution... Screw the rats.

I'd dragged my feet for too long on replacing my old turntable, and I couldn't be happier with my new one. I use it with a receiver and wired speakers, and even my 50-year-old records are sounding great.

Got this 3 months ago. I have Canon's wired remote and this remote. I will probably use the wireless remote more often, but there are two drawbacks. 1) uses batteries. 2) the receiver will use your hot shoe mount, so if you plan on using an external flash transmitter you will need a creative solution for it. But overall this thing is great and works well with my 5Dmii and SL1. It only failed to fire once so far.

This has everything I want for a remote shutter release. The wireless remote control has quite a long range; and if used for wired release you can just connect the cable to the receiver and to the camera, it doesn't even require the battery in the receiver. Both receiver and remote control work quite well, the only minor complaint I have is that you'll need to unscrew two tiny screws in the remote control to replace the battery if needed. I'm not sure why they don't design it the same way as the receiver on which you can just slide off the cover to get to the battery.

I usually use wired microphones, but I needed a wireless microphone to work for a media outlet of South America. I use it for outdoor interviews, protests, press conferences etc. I also use it to record voice over. The way that cancels out background noise is amazing, I really did not think it would result as well. Also it never interfered signal. The receiver lets you monitor the batteries. As a negative, the receiver only uses an internal battery. So it will not let you settle for an interview if you run out of energy. Even though not XLR, the sound stays in very good quality. I use a Canon XF 205, 5D mk iii & 7D mk ii.

I bought this item as part of the Canon Rebel T3i basic accessory kit and I am absolutely impressed by the quality of the remote pack. The receiver has a handy shoe mount to keep everything organized on the camera end and I've noticed that the wireless remote has a good range. It is fantastic to be able to trigger the shutter from any angle around the camera and not have to rely on the infrared sensor, as would be necessary with one of Canon's proprietary wireless remotes. The wired setup has also proved useful. Whether I'm using it for wired or wireless purposes, my photography has been all the more successful as I don't have to fumble around with the camera to take the perfect shot. My only complaint is that the shoe mount on the receiver is plastic. It seems like it might break over time. Thankfully, that wouldn't impact the functionality of the remote set in any way, but it would be much greater to have a metal shoe mount. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this product and highly recommend it to anyone with a Canon DSLR in their repertoire.
