Wireless Active Speakers Review
Jason P | 2024-04-15 04:54:21 |
This is the perfect ideal adapter for using active speakers in a wireless capacity. Specifically, I use the Sennheiser wireless systems to send the signal to the speakers remotely. This adapter is for the needed for the Sennheiser transmitter/receiver packs for providing constant power verses using batteries. I hide the transmitter/receiver packs on top of each speaker out of site from the public and being able to plug them in to the same cord as the active speaker. 5 |

I have been through two (2) other pairs of wireless, bluetooth headphones. Active lifestyle wore them out in about a month. These things don't fall out of your ears, they don't get damaged from sweat or dirt, and they uh..you know..sound good. We tend to forget that we need our headphones to sound good and these really do! Highly, highly recommend. 5 |

I needed a monitor controller for my studio for two pairs of speakers and a couple of inputs. As much as some of the functionality of active monitor controllers appeals to me, the sound quality is first and foremost. And we all know that unless you spend $3k - $10k most active systems severely color your sound - a little more than my current budget. I wasn't sure what to expect with this affordable passive controller however, after spending a few weeks with it I can say without a doubt that it is a great addition to my studio. I hear no coloration or change to the stereo sound field. The Mute, Dim, and Mono sum functions are really handy. And the build quality feels good under your hand. My only complaint is that it would be nice if the knob travel was detented for repeatable levels. Two Big Thumbs Up! 5 |

I have Bose 901 speakers which require an active equalizer so I need a preamp power amp combo. I have a Marantz 5 channel receiver to drive the center and other channels and this works great with the receiver to drive the 901s as the front speakers. B&H shipped this unit quickly and there were no problems. 5 |

I replaced my active monitors with the ELAC speakers and a Yamaha integrated amplifier. Since the ELAC has coaxial arrangement of tweeter + midrange, I felt it would work fine for near field listening. I'm very happy with the result. With nothing playing, the combination of amp with passive speakers has no background hiss. My old monitors had audible hiss and non-defeatable auto-shutoff unless the playback was kept sufficiently loud. I'm using an RME ADI-2 DAC feeding the Yamaha amp. I chose ELAC's Satin White with Oak Sides to escape the all-black look of my old monitors. 5 |

I own a pair of both the Mackie SRM 450 passive and active speakers (same size). I already owned these covers for my passive speakers, but not the active ones. My passive speakers still look brand new after hundreds of gigs thanks to these covers. I started playing some outdoor gigs and wanted the same great protection for my active speakers. Also, these covers make the speakers easy to carry. Just make sure your set the speaker into the cover in the correct direction (bottom speaker facing right side) for the best fit. 5 |

I am using a these (along with Dante Via) to convert a relatively inexpensive set of active speakers into Dante enabled speakers. Only con so far is that the AVIO adapter is larger than I expected, but definitely not a deal breaker. Pros include near infinite (not really, some limit) speaker runs using Ethernet cable (also must have POE); no ground loop him (digital signal); and the AVIO device can serve as a Dante clock device. 5 |

I was hoping these would be the wireless versions of my Sony MDR-7506 with active noise cancellation. My research pointed me to these & the Apple Airpods Max. The 7506 are perfect for long session and was hoping these would be an improvement, but I'm not quite sure. They're pretty comfortable, but sometimes after an hour can be uncomfortable due to the physical headphones, or the sound of active noise cancellation. I have AirPods Pro & am blown away by the noise cancellation & audio quality. For that reason the Air Pods Max probably would be the better fit for me since I'm not traveling with these headphones, BUT they are too expensive for my taste. I wasn't sure if the weight of those would become uncomfortable after long sessions. 5 |

I use 2 desktops, one for active personal business, etc and the second for storage of old documents, pics, refernce items and so on. I used to have to have 2 monitors set up so I could refer to something old if need be but that meant I also needed 2 keyboards and 2 mice. Even though the ones I have are wireless it was still extra clutter. With this KVM switch connecting both desktops I can work from either one at the click of a button. Plus I have eliminated the clutter of the extra montor, keyboard and mouse. I had a concern about it working with my 2 operating systems - Windows 7 Home Premium on one and Vista Home Premium on the other - but they both immediately worked without a glitch. I did need to get a couple of USB extensions because my old desktop is on the other side of the room but there is no degradation of the image from either source and I only have one wireless keyboard and mouse to operate both. It is small enough to fit unobtrusively on my desk behind the monitor and was a breeze to set up. Sure wish I would have done this months ago. 5 |
