Wireless Audience Microphone

I needed to mount a Rode microphone to a light stand to record audience questions, and this cold shoe screwed directly onto the stand. I love how I can only install the mounted device in one direction so that it doesn't slide out the other end.

Purchased this stand to mount a microphone for the audience to submit questions during conferences that I film and run a/v. Clutch that adjusts the height is plastic, but you can't expect more for the price. Stand is simple and solid, while the bese is compact, which is perfect for use in a crowded room.

It is a very helpful appliance. It is easier to adjust than the normal microphone stands. It is not as visible to the audience. It is easier to adjust for people at different heights.

All the specs indicate line of sight range, but my need is for wireless transmission on a run & gun audience/stage camera for concerts and live events.  I was worried it might not work if bodies got in the way or if the camera went around a corner or behind a bleacher, etc.  Havent tested in a large audience yet, but I can go out of my office, close the door and get about 50 feet before receiving artifacts.  Going down a staircase, connection is lost completely and it takes a while to reconnect.  As long as the camera operator stops moving away when artifacts begin, this should work reliably for me.
