This is one of two cameras I purchased for a simple security system for my home. Hik-Vision products were recommended to me by friends with experience in real-world security. Purchasing the system from B&H was a breeze, given the level of expert advice I received from their customer service reps. This camera covers our front driveway and approach to our front door. Installation was easy after watching videos on the Hik-Vision website and You-tube. I mounted it to a 1/2 thick Starboard disk I made, to cushion the camera from my stucco eaves. It provides outstanding picture quality day and night. I appreciate the color images at night. I have not yet figured out the use of the built-in speaker/mic, nor all the parameters for receiving notifications of moving objects. 5 |

At $6, it is great for night vision. It might be cheaply made, but with careful use it should last. I like that the brightness can be adjusted. The 9V battery should last a long time. Caution should be taken not to break the mother plate when changing the battery (see instructions). 5 |

It does affect my night vision when I use it, but because its two red LEDs turn on at MINIMUM BRIGHTNESS it does not affect it much. Power and brightness are controlled by a small thumbwheel, like the volume control on a portable radio. I have another red light but it starts out way too bright. I never use it because of this. It comes with a 9V battery and seems to have good battery life. It is not water or weather resistant. The lanyard is quite good: simple and functional. I can put it around my neck with plenty of slack. 5 |
