I have a pair of RP-8000F front floor speakers and I just added a pair of RP-500SA II surround speakers and placed them on top. I also have front center and back ceiling Klipsch speakers. I don't have an Atmos receiver yet. The RP-500SA II speakers definitely changed the sound to fill up the room with clear and crisp surround sound. I no longer hear the sound mostly coming from the front. The sound seems to come from everywhere. Highly recommended.

I will be honest I truly have no idea how this surround sound is supposed to sound to me. This is my first surround sound system I have ever owned and so I have nothing to compare it to. I do have to say I dont know how I feel about the center channel out cable that makes the voices come out of the tv speakers so it sounds more directly in front of me. I kind of feel like that ruins the experience just a tad bit because I am connecting a low grade speaker to a top grade system and almost drowns out the quality of sound coming from the two front surround sound speakers mounted on the wall. But I will play around with it and see what I like better. As far as the subwoofer goes it is great truly is immersive vibration but if there was a way to connect a 1000W RMS or higher subwoofer (something comparable like a nightshade v5 2500W sundown audio subwoofer for a car) to this system I would highly recommend adding a new subwoofer to the Sony line up that is twice as powerful as this one or give me the ability to add a second subwoofer to the system. I can say I have never sat in my living room and watched an action movie and heard bullets zing past my head before. But with this surround sound that is exactly how it sounds and I can say with all honesty it is really an amazing and cool experience to have as my first one. Hope this helps with future bug fixes and tech updates. Please let me know if you add a new more powerful subwoofer or make it so I can add a second one to the system. Thank you!

Really Good. But all six elements should play together when in surround mode! Front firing speakers is not playing. Only the upfiring and sides. Fix this please!

I'm using 4 of these in my bedroom as the front and surround speakers along with the Klipsch RP-500C center channel speaker and two RP-140D speakers for the rear surround. Also have a R-112SW wireless subwoofer. Very happy with the result. It's like being at the theater.

I’m building my Home Theater set-up starting with with these speakers. Right now they are being used as my front stereo speakers. If you just need them for an office/bedroom/bathroom/garage setting, you can’t go wrong. The speakers have crossovers and in this price range it is absolutely unheard of, (pun intended). I especially appreciate that the port is located on the back (instead of the front) of the speaker, and that just means I needed to place them on a surface away from the wall instead of hanging the on the wall. The result is that of a ‘reflective 3D sound field’ that reproduces amazing depth and precision location of voice/instruments in the recording. By this purchase alone, I’ve been convinced of the quality of Sony Audio Products and am looking forward to the next step of my HT by obtaining the STRDH790 receiver and all the features that it offers, such as the virtual surround using these speakers, Bluetooth and DTS X, that uses location based sound decoding without the use of additional speakers (Dolby Atmos). Of course, to utilize this technology my current speakers will be repurposed to surround speakers when the purchase of new F/L/R & sub speakers are complete Looking forward to growing my system with Sony.

These paired up easily with my roku soundbar and they sound great! I'm using them as surround speakers but you can also use them as front speakers. If you get these I also recommended the subwoofer. That thing adds a LOT of bass, especially for its smaller footprint.
