I am a railfan and all of my filming is done outside. I upgraded through several cameras until I got the Canon HF S200 and found that while it has stereo microphones, they are really sensitive and pickup lots of wind noise. After buying a good solid tripod, this microphone has been my best purchase yet. I've not had any video where the microphone and windmuff haven't saved the sound. Check out any movie I've posted after May 15th on YouTube, username @. Can't recommend this item highly enough if you shoot outdoors. 5 |

Adapter worked fine with my Canon Vixia HF M30 to let me use an external microphone that has a universal cold shoe. Although the adapter is mainly made of plastic, it seems sturdy and well made, I am very satisfied. 5 |

I am using this microphone on a HF-20 camcorder. The microphone works as expected. No directional microphone completely blocks all extraneous sound. However this microphone reduces surrounding noise considerably (especially in the shotgun mode). I have used the microphone for recording lectures in a small seminar room (around 5 ft away from the speaker) & am quite happy with the audio quality. The only con I can see is the rubbery interface with the camcorder. It appears flimsy although I have had the microphone for only a week & will update my review after a few months. 5 |

I got this to use on a Canon HF S200, which has a good factory microphone. I like this mic much better. It doesnt pickup the camera noise,or the videographer noise. It fits the camera well, but has to be mounted with an adapter to Canons mini hot shoe. A great mic for small to midsized camcorders. 5 |
