Wireless Internet Gateway Router

I have been looking to replace my wireless gateway from Comcast for a while now. Recently some new products such as the Google Home caught my attention since they had multiple access points that are placed around your house. This setup has been used in enterprise for years. The only downfall which made me stay away was the lack of customization and advanced features. Using the Synology Router has been like no other. The user interface is the best I have every used, there are so many features and add-ons, I have yet to use them all. Some key points of the router is the 802.11ac antennas, they also operate at a newer channel so currently I am the only one in my apartment complex to be on this channel. The add-ons that are built into the router are pretty useful, my favorite is intrustion prevention since it will monitor network traffic and alert and or block traffic is reconginizes as being harmful. Overal I love this router, many of the issues I had with the range and connectivity on my old gateway have been resolved with this new router. I will continue to purchase their routers in the future. #sweepstakes 5 |

This router works well with other Ubiquity Unifi devices including managed switches, wireless access points and network extenders. This router is fast. The self hosted server app works well on a Windows 10 pc. What isn't clear from the product description or BHP tech support is that the 2.5 GB ports adapt to 1 GB connections and that this router can replace an older Ubiquity UniFi router by plug and play. All that is needed, is to replace the new router on the gateway connection and adopt the device. Once you adopt the new router you get a message saying you can't have 2 gateways. Then just go and forget/remove the old gateway router from the app and re-adopt the new gateway router. Give it a bit of time and all the settings will be automatically applied to the new router. I have a xfinity cable modem, UniFi gateway router, 2 UniFi 8 port managed switched, 1 UniFi WAP, 2 UniFi Beacon wireless network extenders and about 50 network devices managed with a fixed ip setup. My only complaint is that nobody at BHP or Ubiquity could give me a straight answer on upgrading the router. 5 |

I plugged in one of the router outputs from my AT&T wireless gateway and distributed it to wall jacks and 2 Ubiquiti UniFi AC Pro access points (also bought from B&H) via PoE and everything just worked. Not sure why I waited so long to do this. 5 |

I needed internet access in an old building next to my house. It is too far away from my house to be supported by my wireless router. However, it does share electrical wiring with my house. Running new Cat5 cables was not a good solutions for a variety of reasons so I decided to try TP-Link's AV100 Gigabit Powerline Starter kit. The setup was very easy, basically plug and play. The price was very affordable. While not as fast as a direct connection, it still meets my needs. 5 |

I use this to provide backup power for my satellite internet, wireless router and VOIP phone system. Occasionally, it also powers my laptop and external LCD. Works great and has more than ample reserves. Functions out of the box with Apple Macs and seemlessly integrates with Energy Saver in OS X via the included USB cable. No Cons so far. 5 |

I recently had my internet provider to increase my speed (from 150mbps download to 330mbps). It turned out that my old Wi-Fi card that I had on my PC couldn't quite handle the speed even though it was rated that it can. I bought this card out of curiosity just to see if it was the PC that was causing the bottleneck and not the card. Once I installed it, the download transfer rate just about doubled compared to the old card. In fact, the speed is about the same I'm getting if I had the network cable connected directly from the modem to the PC Ethernet port itself. Anyway, I would advise anyone to first check their wireless router or wireless modem/router to see what Wi-Fi standard it uses. If you still using an old modem/router, this card will only go as fast as that set up allows it to. 5 |

I recently bought a dual band router from B&H but wasn't getting the internet speeds I had expected. I checked the built in wireless card on my laptop and discovered that is was a single band card. I found this dual band adapter at B&H and decided to order one. I ordered it Tuesday and it arrived today. With WIN 10 and using a USB 3.0 port, it was as simple as plug and play. I am now getting 3 times faster internet speeds and am very pleased with this device. The price is great as was the free shipping. I would definitely recommend this device for a home wireless network. 5 |

I replace my Cox cable modem and wireless router with Netgear. The signal strength throughout my 2200 sqft house is great. I can even connect my outdoor TV to the internet now. I get the same speed on wireless as I do with the computer plugged into the internet. Great products. 5 |
