Works great, a dream come true.  Real wireless control of flash.  Nikon IR is NOT WIRELESS.  Remote, YES, but by standard definition, NOT WIRELESS.  Wireless by ENGLISH definition is radio waves, not IR.

One of the best wireless headphones. I've got the apple EarPods and these are way better.

I have a Nikon D300s and D7100 and wanted an RF wireless remote (versus IR) for all of my Nikons. This product more than fit the bill! I am very pleased by the performance and most especially, the low cost!

I've had this unit for a week or two. Used it without the wireless feature. It's a good replacement Ir and wired switch I've had for some time. I've used it using the RF feature Worked very well after I read the manual. Which by the way was clearly written. From another room in my house and out side at relatively short distances. It's small and very light. Too soon to tell about durability. I'll treat it carefully. The price is right. Good place to start with a radio shutter release.

The IR wireless remote is a good, basic accessory. I use it with my D5000 for family portraits, and for creative self-portraits (while hiking, e.g.). Good points: small, light weight, wireless. Limitations: IR, so requires clear line-of-sight to front of camera; limited range (5 meters). Other issues: Using the remote requires setting the proper mode in the camera, also the duration of the mode.

Just got a D5100. But I wanted a wireless remote that didn't depend on IR. Too bad Nikon didn't just build it into the D5100 camera but they didn't so I bought this remote. It installed without a single problem and I was using the remote within five minutes of getting it all out of the box. Works flawlessly. It is sad that it has to use the cable included to plug it into the D5100. I don't really intend to use it all that often but when I do use it, it's a very welcome addition to the camera. Seems to be solid and well-built.

I was looking for a better shutter release, something wireless and not line-of-sight like infrared (IR) devices. The Free Wave works great on my Sony a6000, around corners and through walls from a safe distance.
