I sought a practical solution for tutoring and meetings. Not only does the microphone block all the background noise, but the 3mm jack for cell phone provides additional convenience for important phone calls.

Live in a windy area and wind screen protection is a must. I use these when I am in a hurry and don't want to mess with the full blimp process or can get by with handheld in a slightly windy area. These work very well and block out unwanted wind noise. This is different from the actual sound of the wind, for instance, it is howling, and there is no way to really block that noise out. But for wind noise rushing over the microphone, these work perfectly by creating dead air space between the microphone and the outside. I actually like to just leave it on the microphone, even when storing, because it is such a tight fit, it can double as storage protection too. I would not hesitate to recommend any Rycote product. It is a small company that runs a pretty tight ship.

I am using this specific microphone only for interviews during weddings. I have noticed that the microphone will definitely block out MOST other noises surrounding the object being interviewed; however, I haven't figured out the most optional setting for the microphone yet. I put it on -10Db (dip switch) and set the camera at +6Db. I acquired the audio I needed but it wasn't as perfect as I hoped it would be. I am satisfied with the purchase especially since now I don't have to had people a wired mic anymore. I like the idea that I can remain contained into my little box.

I used this windscreen for E865 microphone. Great: Nicely fit and works perfect to block wind & singer's breathing noise while virtually not affecting singer voice quality. No So Great: It is kind of thick. I wish it is thinner (as thin as the Beta 87A windscreen for example)

The only Deadcat you should use for your Videomic Pro microphone because the other brands seem to be of a lesser quality. You need a dense fur to block the wind and this one by Rode seems to be the thickest.
