Wireless N Ap Router

I bought this router and paired it to my 2 ubiquiti wireless ap's. Router works great! Highly recommend. Read all the great reviews about it. They aren't lying.

I got this to replace all of our wireless needs. I disabled wireless on our router and use this AP as our only source of wifi. The software is so amazing. We get better range and speeds in our home. Going to get the Ubiquiti USG and switch later.

I'm pretty happy with this AP. Its just an AP, not a wireless router so it doesn't have any NAT or firewall features, which is fine by me, I have a Pfsense firewall that does all that for me. Its PoE, though the PoE is somewhat non-standard in that only works with the injector that comes with the unit.I have the unit mounted on the ceiling in my central hallway and its completely inconspicuous, especially given that you can shut the blue LED status ring off so that it looks just like a smoke detector. I bought 2, one for upstairs and one for the basement. They are configured identically with the unifi software. Setting them up took about 20m. I did a bit of speed testing and am seeing 760mbps or so straight out of the box in the place that I usually work, so for the $ or $ these units cost I'm pretty happy.

I bought this AP and a related router to replace an aging consumer grade wireless router which I had. Setting up this AP was a breeze and I'd recommend this to anyone wishing to implement or extend a wireless network in their home or small office. The thing to keep in mind is that this is intended to be mounted on a wall or preferably a ceiling. The router only requires a network cable and you use the included power injector to power the unit. This AP will require some other device to route the traffic from your web provider. Configuration is easy with the Unify controller software installed on your pc. Wait for the AP to power on, load the software on your pc (on the same wired network), and let it look for and provision the AP. You can configure a single combined SSID for 2.4 and 5ghz or separate and configure a guest network if so desired. Once configured, the AP has been running without issue solidly for a few weeks now. I have my PoE injector in my office and plugged into my UPS along with my modem, router, and switch. If the power goes out, all of the wireless and internet access will stay up. Be sure to test all your ethernet cables prior to installing everything. I had multiple issues with the cables I was going to use initially. One cable would only allow a max 100 connection, the other would allow gigabit, but the rj45 connector was able to pull back just enough while connected to cause an intermittent connection. Swapping to higher quality cables solved these issues. I have a 3800 sq ft house in an L shape. This AP is on the second floor in the center of the house. This works well for coverage everywhere and I've even seen coverage in areas where I had little to none previously. I've got it mounted in the ceiling of a hallway next to a smoke detector. It doesn't look too out of place except for the blue glow (which can be turned off). I'd recommend this to anyone that has basic networking and computer knowledge looking for a solid access point.

After replacing my wifi router with this AP the speed of the internet went up significantly. I was amazed.

Thanks to this router, I no longer need to use the power brick for my AC-Lite Ubiquiti AP. This router can support PoE on any of the copper ports. Thankfully, my AP only needs 24v. I took advantage of the vlan and and firewall features to segregate my networks. You won't go wrong with this router. However, I will caution you that the this router was designed for an audience with a rudimentary understanding of network.

The router works great as a replacement for my ASUS router. Using this in AP mode, while my ISP router provides DHCP and wifi in the basement. Neat that it handles both 2.4GHz and 5GHz devices on the same SSID. An alternate bundle includes a WiFi extender for mesh networking. Stronger signal and a speed boost.

I purchased this router (along with a UniFi AP) to replace an aging Netgear wireless router/AP. I had installed DD-WRT on that router and a lot of those features are included in this router. There are now however, no connection drops on my network. If you're looking at purchasing this router, you probably know what you'll be able to do with this thing. The only issue I could see is if someone with no networking knowledge tried to configure it. A VERY basic understanding of networking is required. There are included wizards, so you may not even need that. You really can't beat the price for the quality you're getting.

I bought this to finally replace my Fios router and integrate to my other Ubiquiti AP's. Installation was easy and intuitive. It's really nice to have the integrated controller and see every device and all of the details so easily. When I only had Ubiquiti AP's the information available was limited so I highly recommend this item. Wish there had been a Wifi6 version available, unfortunately the Dream Router is bandwidth limited (can't take advantage of 1 gb internet speed) and the Express is device limited (# of AP's possible).
