Wireless Router Lan Port

2024-06-27 06:16:36

Plugged it into the the LAN (towards the router) and the other port towards the Ubiquiti bridge (ports are clearly marked) and it worked perfectly. I did add ESD protection with a driven ground between the bridge and this device, but am pretty sure this device stated it also provides that protection. I bought a spare to be safe, but suspect it will not be needed as build quality appears excellent. Thanks for selling a quality product!

As more and more smart devices were being added to my small office network, the ISP provided ZyXel VMG4380 router seemed to be struggling and was having issues with stability. This required a reset to resolve which was inconvenience when miles from the office. The small office didn’t need much so I looked at the TP-Link R600VPN and Ubiquiti ERLite3 as inexpensive replacements that seemed to meet my requirements.  I ran across the  ER-4 and liked that, for a little more money, its upgraded CPU and memory would provide more margin for higher speed connections and make it a bit more future proof.  The router seems like a solid well built unit, nothing flashy just a couple small status lights, functional. The power supply is built in, no external power brick. We have PPPoe on our fibre connection, and once the proper credentials were entered and easy setup run, it was basically plug and play.  It been performing well for the month we’ve had it installed. It runs just warm not hot, and is silent. Seems to be loafing. You do have to go out on the web to Ubiquiti for the user manual, which is detailed ,and there is extensive set up advise on the web (including a couple excellent YouTube videos). It is not any harder to set up than any other router, just a slightly different language. For most the easy setup will get you going. Then add port forwarding rules and static LAN IP assignments in the router’s DHCP server if you need them.  It has two LAN ports which can be independent or bridged. I have a 16 port switch so I just use one LAN port.   Its overkill for the office, but nice to know it can handle more throughput if we eventually choose to upgrade.

This router is great. With the latest firmware there is a wizard that sets it up just like your typical all-in-one home router with a WAN port, 4 switched LAN ports, a stateful firewall that blocks all incoming connections, and a dhcp server for serving IPs to the lan. I run a Unifi UAP-AC-Lite off of the passthrough POE port with great success as well. I have a 100mbit down / 10mbit up cable connection and 1gbit lan devices. The router never leaves single digit cpu usage and my packet loss is zero. The edge router x is also tiny. It's literally the size of two smart phones stacked on top of each-other.

I really love it...It does need to be connected to a strong internet connection...either LAN or Wireless

Easy activation with Comcast. I was surprise to learn I could not use the extra LAN connections in back since I have to have a port aggregation in my router.

I had some early issues with the LAN port, but Gigabyte's support via email helped by recommending clearing the CMOS. It's been a great motherboard with so many great features, lots of internal and external USB ports, two PCIe 5.0 SSD slots and two PCIe 4.0 SSD slots, room for 128GB of RAM, plenty of SATA ports, 2.5Gb Intel LAN and WiFi 7.

That is a great monitor, although id like a taller screen area. I really like a added lan port! Everyone is taking ports away, but the Z line has me covered.

Currently using it for subnetting muy LAN using VLANs. It has worked without issues together with my pfSense router/firewall. Good buy.

I have a Modem, Router, LAN Switch, CRT TV, HDTV, 14 gaming consoles, and a VCR hooked up on this. It has been amazing at both consolidating space & allowing me to keep everything plugged in. No issues when turning on devices, especially after having issues with a previous power strip. Strip has a reset with 15 Amp circuit breaker. My apartment was built in 1924, so it's been helpful with the bad elwctricity. *I didn't utilize the mount bracket.
