I use this product to support a home video security system. I have 5 wireless G videocameras streaming live video from throughout my home. This is a budget setup and this router fit the bill perfectly. The router is constantly running at near wireless capacity as far as throughput. I use it on WPA2 b/g/n without issues. I gave it 5 stars because considering the cost and the benefits, I believe it is 5 stars. If this cost more, it would be 3 stars. 5 |

I had three reasons for purchasing this item: (1) Lots of storage to cover 3-4 cameras for 7-14 days (2) Reliability - WD products have been very reliable for me over the last 5 years (3) This type was recommended by the manufacturer. Added this third Deco X55 to better service the wireless doorbell and surveillance floodlight at front of house. Really like this mesh system and the ease of adding additional access points. The system also balances itself for optimum strength and seamless roaming. 5 |

The Synology Surveillance Station software is the best security camera software we have used, having tried two before this. It is more costly having to buy licenses for each camera you want to use but at least the licenses are transferrable between hardware upgrades and not bound to a specific camera's MAC Address or hardware. The software is very smooth and easy to use with advanced feature available if needed. It has otherwise been very plug-n-play switching over. 5 |
