This mic will pretty much blow your mind with how clean it records. The brass instrument clip isn't that great. It wouldn't stay secured on the trumpet I mounted it on. Plus, certain mutes will prevent it from mounting entirely. I'm sure the clip is very instrument dependent, so plan for backup mounting options. When in doubt, gaff tape.

I'm a musician and video myself a lot playing my instrument. I needed a remote so I don't always have to get up and press the record button between takes. Some reviewers have said that the setup was complicated. Not for me. I'm using a Canon M50 and the remote was up and running within a few minutes. I'd also like to point out that it's really small, which is great so it can disappear easily in my pocket when I film myself.

I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments.  The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections.  Versatile and great sound quality.

These are the world's best inexpensive pencil condensers. You can spend hundreds more and not get anything that sounds any better. They are warm, very accurate and not tinny or bright - unlike most budget chinese condensers. I've used them to record acoustic guitars, banjo, mandolin, cello, viola, violin, sitar, tabla, hormonium, tenor, baritone and alto saxophones, clarinet, and drums. I've used them as room mics, spot mics, boom pole mics for film and video, as a XY stereo pair to record string quartets, jazz ensembles, orchestras, classical duos, trios and soloists. These things are THE best piano mics I have ever used. Bar none, hands down. I've recorded Steinway Model Bs and Ds, Mason & Hamlin Model As, Bs and BBs, a Baldwin SD-10 and Yamaha C-5 with them.
