Xbox Cloud Gaming Chromecast Ultra

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This serves as my work-from-home monitor and is also used for gaming and watching TV when not working. The available apps cover all my streaming needs, the picture quality is excellent. There is also an option to use the latest game streaming services (Xbox Cloud Gaming, Amazon Luna, or Google Stadia [though this service has been recently discontinued]). The built-in speakers are even pretty good. Especially considering what you typically get with a monitor. You can also connect Bluetooth speakers and have the TV route audio through it instead. The remote works very well and has some quick launch buttons for the more common streaming apps as well. It may take a little getting used to, at first. Since it doesn't really have "input" switching buttons. Instead, you navigate to the different types of devices that you have connected (or apps installed). So, when you're wanting to play Xbox, you would go to the gaming section on the home screen and select either the physical Xbox that's connected or launch the Xbox Cloud app to stream games. My only real complaint with this monitor is that the stand isn't adjustable. I'd like to raise it just slightly higher. It is at a pretty good height, but I would like it just a little higher for my personal preference.

I don’t do any major work on this CPU. I do some graphic design, gaming on XBOX game pass, and some work. Great overall performance. Graphics struggled a little streaming Starfield with cloud gaming, but still very playable. I had an occasional glitch/lag but that could have also been the stream from XBOX cloud gaming. Everything else has been solid!

My son told me how he had cut cable by subscribing to HULU and getting Chromecast ultra. I tried this setup and I love it. Hulu is much less expensivethan cable and has everything I want in tv/movies/video. Couple that with my smart tv and it makes perfect sense. My iPhone is now my remote (among other things) and I was able to upgrade my Internet speed and still save money. I would most certainly recommend this to anyone.

The Chromecast Ultra was very easy to install. Plug it in to an available HDMI port on the TV, plug the power cord into an outlet, plug an ethernet cable (not included) into block that plugs into outlet and from there to network switch (or router), and it just works. It booted up on TV, I used the app downloaded to my smartphone to complete the configuration (easy). Now I can use the cast button on many of my phone apps, or the chrome browser on my PC to send to my TV. Works great for what it is intended for.

I use this in combination of the iOS phone and Google Home app. I have a PLEX server set up to cast movies. I also am able to cast Showtime via Google Home to watch Homeland on Chromecast Ultra. It is faster to process the movie and no lag or synchronization problems because of the ethernet cable. Recommended if you have Plex or just use Google Chrome to watch shows a lot. If you have a TV that is CEC compatible and enabled, you can launch Google Home from the iPhone and it will automatically start both Chromecast Ultra and your TV with just the app.

I have a first-gen Chromecast, and comparing to that one, the Chromecast Ultra is definitely much faster. One minor issue is that you have to use the USB charger in the box. Use other power supply won't give you the 4K output (a warning message will be shown on TV).

I loved my 2nd generation Chromecast. But it was kind of slow. Every time I cast something, it takes about 5 seconds to actually start playing on TV. Today I replaced it with a Chromecast Ultra even though my TV doesn't support 4K. The casting time is reduced to under 1 second. It feels like instant and it's much better experience than before. So I recommend Ultra over the regular Chromecast even if you don't have a 4K TV.

I was so pleased with the standard Chromecast (2nd gen) that I bought the Ultra version for use with my 4K TV. One thing I was surprised to learn was I was able to broadcast the entire desktop and not just what was under the Chrome browser. I relegated the 2nd gen to use at our astronomy club and ue it for demonstrations. Very effective.

I purchased the Chromecast Ultra as a companion to my Google Home. The Chromecast is attached to my AV receiver which allows me to cast audio and video commands via voice command to my AV system. The device works exactly as promised so I am quite please with it. Only difficulty was in figuring out how to send the commands from the Google Home to it. That was resolved via a very quick support call with Google (Hey Google, play song title on Spotify on Chromecast).

Does everything that Roku + Chromecast ultras do plus more. Blazingly fast! I am not a gamer, but bought the additional gaming controller for my grandkids. Love it!!!
