Recently, I purchased a 120mm Celestron refractor and, with it, three Celestron Xcel eyepieces. �But I was disappointed with views of the Moon (my main target since I live under very light polluted skies). �Views lacked contrast and light scattering was distracting. �I thought the problem was the scope. �But I decided to try a televue 8mm eyepiece. �What a difference!!! �Light scattering was gone and contrast was significantly improved. �It was like I had a new and better telescope! �I wish Televue made a 5mm Plossl �because I would order it in a second. 5 |

I have used an xcel 3x Barlow for imaging solar system objects and also for visual observing, since about 5 years. Felt the need to try out a focal extender this time. This seems to be widely recommended and hence purchased this. I am quite happy with the results I am getting. The build quality seems to be great for this price point. Very happy with this! 5 |
