Transition from my Xperia XZ2 Compact was quick and relatively painless. There were a bunch of immediate factory and Google updates at the same time and all went smoothly. So far, the experience is an improved version of my old phone and there have been zero problems.

Hey everybody. I bought this microphone for vlogging. And I was sad when tested it with my Sony Xperia Z5. There were cracking/poping sound. I returned it and get another one. The same thing. Then I found on Sony forum, that you should put your phone in Flight mode. And so I did. Now there is no cracking/poping sounds. It works perfectly. Love the product very good. It is great microphone, but of course it is RODE. I hope i helped to anyone.

Biggest strength over the other Xperia Phones are the focal lengths. 24mm and 50mm are perfect for the documentary/street photography that I enjoy doing versus the landscape/portrait options of most Sony and other phones. Screen is great, dedicated shutter button is perfectly place, nice option for wrist straps, and image quality is fantastic. Really has saved me a couple of times when my camera is deep in a bag or left at home. Fast, reliable, Sony OS is also great with some unique options for battery saving like limiting the max charge rate and level to 80%. Leave it at 80 for most weeks and take it to 100 for the long days of photography. All around great, expensive yes, not as egregious as the other pro model but still way up there. Phone jack and micro-sd slot are also a huge plus. That's enough rambling, great phone.

I'm using this to send the video from my Xperia phone to an external monitor. Does the trick! The cable is good quality too.

This isn't a definitive smartphone review, there are far more qualified people on YouTube and the like that have covered this phone ad nauseam. For a simple consumer though that doesn't game on his phone, and one that's coming from a smartphone camera that was the Razer Phone 2 (which was objectively a bad camera) this phone is an improvement in every sense of the word. Much smaller, better battery life, faster. Everything I'm saying is objective, if you're coming from the Xperia 5 III, it may not feel like much of an upgrade, but if your phone is older, and your looking for a phone that actually fits in your pocket, maybe you're looking for a phone that isn't made by Samsung or Apple, this phone gets a lot right. It incredibly has an Aux port for wired headphones, wireless charging, a MicroSD card slot. To me, this phone checks off more boxes that most other new phones available. If you can stomach the $998 price tag of course. I mean, it's cheaper than the Xperia 1 IV. If the price turns you off, The Pixel 7/7 Pro exist, though the 7 Pro isn't small, and the Asus Zenfone 9 is great, but the plastic back doesn't evoke flagship to me. Point is, this phone checks off too many boxes to ignore.

I went from a lowly LG Stylo 5 to this, now that's already a big jump, and I knew for years I always wanted an Xperia the moment a former coworker showed me long ago. I am a sucker for a good camera, and the ones in the PRO-I are awesome! I love how customizable the settings are in the camera app, I was never an savvy to how to work a camera like this, but I had a lot of fun figuring it out and as you can see in my photos, this thing is sick! Yes, the phone gets warm and even a bit hot when using the camera, but I wouldn't say many would find this being much of an issue, and this phone was made to handle this sort of stress. I love how when you hold it, the front and back of the phone feel identical until you run your hand into the camera or say one of the speakers in the front. The ridges on the side are a bit of a quirk some may not be into, but I am, it almost reminds me of the same grooves you would see on a Playstation 2! I've heard some people don't like how you can't reassign the home, back and application cycling buttons around to your liking, since the back button is at the left of the screen, but personally it's a bit of a welcome change, since I used to have my back button set on the right since the dinosaurs walked the Earth. The audio jack port actually provides an interestingly quality sound compared to my LG Stylo 5, if you are the type to listen to music from your phone like me, you will notice the improvement in the sound straight away! Its a much more fuller and organic sound. This thing is fast, and is cool as can be, will definitely get another Xperia like this for as long as this line of phones exist! For a carrier, I formerly had MetroPCS and I couldn't seem to get it to work with them, strangely, since it is an unlocked phone. I had ended up switching to AT&T anyhow to try it since service was always a little bad, and definitely don't regret switching at all. Oh yeah, it also charges FAST!

Having the Sony Xperia 1 (also from BHPhoto), with a camera that benefits the user when the user experiments with the manual settings, this light at a low cost adds an additional element to that experiment. Its just a matter of finding the right settings for subject at hand, then use the light to take up any lack in lighting.
