Yamaha 5 String Bass

This was part of the package for the GL1 Guitalele - Nylon-String Guitar Ukulele (Natural) by Yamaha. It was all given as a gift and well received!

I bought this for a Yamaha GL1 6-string guitalele. It fits in the same soft case as my tenor ukes so I thought I would try this hard case. I do not have a bottom strap button installed on my guitalele and the case was a very tight fit. I was concerned that it would put pressure on the neck so I squished down the padding inside from the top and bottom to loosen it up a bit. It seems to be better now. The height of the case is just fine to accommodate the wider body of the Yamaha GL1. The case itself is very lightweight and easy to carry through airports, but sturdy enough to take on an airplane as a carry-on and not worry about it being crushed in the overhead bins. The interior storage compartment has plenty of room for things like picks, capos, tuners, etc. The outside pocket is also nice but I’m not using it for anything.

I have this woofer paired with R-51 bookshelves and a Yamaha 683 7.2 surround. This set up is perfect for my living area. As I stated in my review of the R-51's they are not a bass heads speaker. Pure Clarity and enjoyment in a small package. I decided to go with the 12 inch woofer and honestly I couldn't be happier. I have it in a medium sized room and the sound is seriously wall rattling. I run this woofer at around 1/4 to 1/3 power and it is more than enough UMPH for my sized space. This woofer provides clear and deep bass and has been able to keep up with all my music ( Jazz, Classic Rock, Alternative, Hip-Hop, Americana, Bluegrass) you name it this sub will play it.

I was a skeptic before purchasing the NS-555 since they are a bass reflex speaker.I prefer acoustic suspension spkrs BUT, the Yamies are not boombing bass, very strong solid bass responce and very good mid and high range. I'm using a Yamaha HTR-5860 AV receiver,YST-215 sub woofer and NS-C444 center speaker. Using two Sony spkrs for rear but will replace them with the Yamaha NS-333. I find the complete Yamaha system i have sounds great and i get many compliments on the suround sound!! Yamaha speakers truely brings sounds to life ! I'm a YAMIE !!!!!

I have to say that, after using these two Yamaha HS8 speakers for over two years now, I've never been happier with them. The full response - highs and lows - is really good for the price. They give me an honest audio as I to post production on my videos. I almost don't even need to add the sub-woofer for good bass (bass has always been important to me). I recommend!!!!
