Yamaha Home Theater Amp

This unit is so good, this is the second one I've bought! The original purchase replaced a higher end Pioneer system for our home theater. The sound, ease of use, and price point are SPOT ON!!! The second, purchased from B&H went into the man cave, for more home theater, & gaming....I've gone back & forth throughout the years bouncing from Yamaha to other manufacturers, but I keep coming back to Yamaha...Reliable product every time..

The 'Amp' replaced a Home Theater receiver I still employed with some nice horn driven speakers I couldn't part with. The receiver was the last bulky and 'in your face' component in the living room. I expected Sonos quality in this Amp, but wasn't ready for the improvement in sound stage in comparison to the receiver. Things sounded so great, I had to break out all my favourites so as to listen to them again for the first time!

The AV Direct allowed me to use the center channel output from my Home Theater Receiver (speaker level) as the input to a Pro Monitor that I found used. My main speakers are Infinity Modulus with a ribbon-style (EMIT) tweeter. The only match I've found at reasonable cost is the Adam Pro series with their X-ART tweeters, but my Pioneer receiver doesn't offer pre-amp outputs. The AV Direct came to the rescue, allowing the amp inside the Adam Pro monitor to do its work. I matched levels by ear without difficulty.This solution is simple and certainly less costly than buying a 1k or so Home Theater Receiver with preamp outputs.

Well built, I bought 2 for my home theater, one is connected to a large 5 channel power amp and TV. Have noticed some reduction it the background noise. Very happy with the purchase.

I bought this to be the main for the 2 channel fronts in my home theater system for better quality listening to just 2 channel stereo. This amp delivers. I have a Marantz AV8801 preamp running in 7.2 with a 5 channel OSD amp to the other speakers. The speakers are all Klipsch with the mains RP-280Fs. It really woke up the mains and the sound quality is more audiophile like, very transparent and smooth. I only have a few hours on the amp so far, so I can't say if it is sounding better after break in, but it sounded pretty darn good right out of the box. I think it's a great amp for the money, and one of the rare amps that has balanced inputs at this price point. I would love to hear what it could do with a set of Cornwalls.

I have a home theater surround sound with a Sonos soundbar, sub and two Sonos Ones as my rears. In my kitchen I have the Sonos Sonance ceiling speakers with the Sonos Amp. Outside I have the Sonos Sonance Outdoor speakers hooked up to a Sonos Amp. The sound on all of my Sonos products is superior to anything I have used in the past and I have used many of the top major brands. The ability to hook up the system and add new rooms or speakers is a breeze. The functionality between the Sonos system with any of the iPhones and iPads in my house is very easy and makes it an enjoyable experience to control the music or sound levels. I will continue to recommend Sonos products to all my family and friends. Everyone is impressed with the sound when they come over.

I use this primarily with my home theater. Works amazingly well as a standalone, or I pair it with my sonos amp that powers two Klipsch towers and a sub. The device is amazingly simple to setup and adjust, i find that the sound is great not only for tv, but for music as well. I would like to have a sonos sub paired with it as well. Hope to get that down the road here.

I have a home theater where 3 of the seats have Buttkicker tactile transducers, for those earth quaking explosions etc. Tactile transducers require a lot of wattage from your amp, so a pro amp suited me best (lots of power, drive low ohms, cheaper per watt). However, since my home theater receiver only had the typical -10 dB output on the sub-woofer channel, I needed something to bring it up to the +4 dB required by the professional amp. This box is an affordable way to integrate professional audio equipment into your home theater. No fuss, just works. Just be careful when you now do the channel balancing, since you'll have three places to adjust the audio level, 1) the receiver, 2) the MB15b Promatch, and 3) the amplifiers input gain.
