I had been testing in my 2-channel system Yamaha and Denon integrated amps, as well as an older Marantz AV receiver I had on hand, and was not fully satisfied with the music reproduction playing a variety of genres on CD from classical to jazz to folk to pop/rock. After researching and reading for many hours I decided to try the Audiolab 6000A and was delighted to see B&H's excellent sale price on the black model. The amp has very nice build quality, and more importantly to me it has elevated my Q Acoustics 3050 towers to another level of sound quality. Great soundstage, neutral tonality top to bottom, instruments sound real with the space and ambience of the recording reproduced, cymbals are delicate and detailed, bass notes are powerful when called upon and always under control, the midrange is very pure with no hint of coloration. I feel like the Audiolab has provided a taste of the high end for a budget price.

Needed an amplifier to run some older speakers for the TV.  I tried to use an old Yamaha integrated amp that had issues and would cost more to fix than the new cost of the PTA4.  Purchased the Pyle Pro PTA4 and could not be more pleased. KF in Richmond

I replaced my active monitors with the ELAC speakers and a Yamaha integrated amplifier. Since the ELAC has coaxial arrangement of tweeter + midrange, I felt it would work fine for near field listening. I'm very happy with the result. With nothing playing, the combination of amp with passive speakers has no background hiss. My old monitors had audible hiss and non-defeatable auto-shutoff unless the playback was kept sufficiently loud. I'm using an RME ADI-2 DAC feeding the Yamaha amp. I chose ELAC's Satin White with Oak Sides to escape the all-black look of my old monitors.

imho, you should skip the old 'receiver' and upgrade to a new Integrated Amplifier like this Yamaha unit. When shopping to replace my receiver i stumbled across an article on cnet about integrated amps. After spending a couple hours learning about these devices and finding a unit with an a/b speaker switch (for my speakers in the backyard), i selected this Yamaha unit.Never going back to a Receiver...easy to use, great sound (thd about 0.019), performs exactly as expected. great value too. Only 'con' is that it should allow for independent audio sources for each speaker set.

If these amplifiers give you what you ask for, they are great, a clean and strong sound.

Using it for guitar but appears to suit small amplifiers well.
