The Fat Head is an absolute dynamo. I used it once on acoustic guitar and haven't stopped using it since. Sounds great on just about everything you put in front of it. It does have darker sound than say a small diaphragm condenser, so I wouldn't recommend it as an overhead mic. 5 |

I already own an mk4, and I wanted to get a second mk4 so I could record a stereo pair for piano and acoustic guitar and it sounds so good. The mk4 I already own, I've had for about 4 years now, and it's my go to mic for everything -- strings, piano, guitar, voice. I have tried many many mics above and below this price point and to my ears, none sound as natural. I rarely need EQ when using schoeps mics. It also matches my other mk4 perfectly. Very happy with the purchase. Also B+H customer service was great and the capsule arrived quickly. 5 |

Love this microphone with my acoustic guitar. It sounds wonderful. It's a hearty microphone, a bit bigger than I imagined. I bought the optional fuzzy windscreen too. It takes a 9 volt battery or you can use phantom power from your board or recording device. 5 |
