Yamaha Outdoor Speaker Grill

I installed 7 of these speakers in my outdoor patio 3 years ago. They install easily, with lots of possible orientations. No maintenance, no cleaning, and they still sound great. Some of mine are exposed to the elements directly, some are not. The bass response is good, but will still sound best when complimented with an outdoor sub (JBL has some options). Someone (ok, it was me) threw a Nerf football and hit one of the speakers. The speaker grill was majorly dented, but the sound was not affected. I called DT customer support and they sent me a replacement grill free of charge. You can't beat that.

I have installed 8 of these in an new Restaurant there are a fantastic speaker the grill is magnetic which makes them easier to install. The speaker has an extremely low profile the blend right into the ceiling. the centre cone can be adjusted which makes aiming the speaker amazing.

The side pocket, situated between the two side straps, is not large enough to accommodate the power cord, but may be useful for small items, like replacement fuses. However, when the speaker cabinet is placed in the bag with the grill facing the front of the bag, there's room for the power cord and a 25' XLR cable placed on top the speaker. This orientation allows the speaker handle to be facing up, where it can be easily picked up and protects the front grill of the speaker to be facing downward and get dented from placing the bag on the floor. There is only enough padding to barely protect the cabinet from minor scratches, so i've taken the advice of another reviewer to add 1 foam padding on the bottom of the case to improve protection for the cabinet, but this will not likely prevent damage from drops or careless abuse. This not a road-worthy case, but will do fine if it is used carefully. Zippers are not attached, each work independently. There is no strap, but it is not needed for this size case. Also, with no strap hook on either end, the bag can be place upright on the floor to allow more compact storage options. It will rest on the speaker's bottom where the best position can be obtained.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow! This home speaker blew my mind the moment I unboxed the JBL Authentics 500. It definitely has some weight and the size make it feel like a premium product. The metallic bronze finish and pattern on the speaker grill look very retro and fit in really well with the living room. Setting up the speaker was simple, connect the power cord to the speaker and connect it to the wall outlet. The quick start guide had me download the JBL One app to complete the setup. After pairing the device it prompted for a software update that took about 2 minutes to complete. A nice addition in the app is the option to set the EQ. It is nice that the speaker comes with an Ethernet port, in my case it's far from my router so I have to use WiFi. Google Assistant works well and it plays the music I want through my music subscriptions. I have another JBL speaker and I was able to easily use airplay to play the same music in multiple rooms. As far as volume, this speaker has plenty. I only went to about 50% and that more than enough to make the walls shake and sub could be felt in the walls a few rooms down the hall. Overall I'm really really really happy with this speaker. The only thing I don't like is the red LED light that comes on when I turn off the voice assistant microphone. I understand that this is to let the user know that the microphone is off but it would be nice if there was an update to turn off the LED status for when the mic is off. This way I don't see a red LED in the front speaker grill all day long. If you are thinking about purchasing it, do it. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Keep up the good work JBL!

Better sound than my yamaha system with tower speaker's and sub

I bought this to amplify sound from my outdoor TV. Hooked to Yamaha outdoor speakers, it provides a good quality sound. Easy to install and set up.

Previously had a dedicated Yamaha outdoor amplifier to drive our SpeakerCraft OE8 outdoor speakers on our rear deck. Replaced with Sonos Amp. Although it's pricey, it sounds awesome and the big advantage is we can play the same music in our living room Sonos 5's as the outdoor speakers. So we can enjoy the same music in both locations. Very easy to install and set up. Sounds awesome.

Yamaha A-S501 85w. x2 into 8 ohms. I use it to power Bose 251 outdoor speakers.This amp fills a huge soundstage with detailed depth. The controls are simple. The silver finish [in stock at B&H] is a clean smart look. B&H came through again. Great stock, the right price and swift delivery.

These outdoor speakers sound very nice on our back patio. We’re fortunate to have a covered portico where we were able to mount them vertically with opposing side walls to reflect passive radiator bass sound equally. We have an older Yamaha Aventage A/V receiver which provides 150 watts per channel to our zone 2 Def Techs, controlled wirelessly through the Yamaha controller app. The speakers play background music sweetly at low volume, and really pump out nice, full range sound when cranked up. Bass is quite good at party volume. Have to be very careful not to get kicked out of the neighborhood! Very happy with our purchase.

I'm a trainer & bought this speaker for outdoor circuits. Awesome!!!
