I can't express how much I have come to value this DI. When recording (or amplifying) acoustic jazz bass from a loud stage, I do what I can with a microphone but for isolation I MUST incorporate a DI. The variable input impedance control on the TD-100 changes the loading on high impedance, passive pickups. This boils down to being an incredible tone control, allowing me to find a sweet spot in the bass tone before I ever reach for an EQ. Bass players also love the vastly improved tone which is thereby presented to the input of their amp, allowing them to sculpt an even better tone rather than simply trying to transform a poor one into something usable. I don't play bass, but if I did I would own one of these. As an engineer, I always have one handy. Using a channel with this DI either alone or in combination with a microphone yields beautiful results while also allowing me to have much better isolation than just a microphone can deliver.
