Zoom H2 Condenser Microphone

I bought this so I could use my new Audio-Technica AT8004L microphone with my Zoom H2 recorder. It works perfectly. I have not experienced any humming or interference. I have used it for post-game news conferences for a major youth baseball tournament and for intimate one-on-one interviews. I will have to agree with one reviewer's comment that the connection to the mic or cable feels loose. However, I haven't had any problems. Just make sure you lock the two together.

Fits the X-H2 nicely, as well as the bottom of the XF 50-140mm zoom tripod collar. Until Really Right Stuff comes out with a dedicated plate for the X-H2 or X-H2s I'll stick with this for on camera. Excellent construction.

I bought this to replace my aging Zoom H2 from 2009. I like the larger display and simpler layout. The remote is wonderful; my old model never had one. I mainly use this for an annual music convention where I jam all night with a group of acoustic musicians. The sound quality is excellent, considering these are amateur recordings. I am also happy that, unlike my old Zoom that only took 4 GB SDHC cards, this new model takes cards up to 32 GB, which eliminates the need to carry multiple cards at my convention. I still had plenty of room left over on my SDHC card, even after more than 10 hours of recording. This is a great product for people who want to record rehearsals and jams.

I record audio of post game news conferences for a major youth sporting event, which I post online. Although a mixer would be ideal for connecting multiple mics to my Zoom H2 recorder, I couldn't afford the expense of a mixer, but I found this. You can't beat the price for the solution this provides. (To use this with the Zoom H2, you need a transformer to connect XLR to 1/8.)

Zoom took an excellent product - the Zoom H2 - and improved it substantially. The H2n surpasses the H2 in sound quality, ease of use and in build quality. The only letdown is that most of the accessories packed with the H2 are now a separate purchase for the H2n.Bottom line: If you're thinking of upgrading from the H2, do it! If you have yet to experience the recording marvels of these little wonders, the H2n is a perfect entry model. You'll enjoy the experience.
